PS4 And Xbox 720 May Have 8GB RAM, Microsoft’s Next Gen Console More Popular

32 GB?!

Crytek had earlier said that it wants 8 GB RAM in next gen consoles and now they have indirectly said that it actually could be that much. It was a Crytek employee that leaked the codename for Microsoft’s next-gen consoled which was called Durango internally.

Cevat Yerli CEO of Crytek loves memory and in an interview with Videogamer he emphasised on that fact and mentioned that the next-gen consoles should be packed with a lot of memory.

“Memory is the single most important thing that is always going to be underbalanced – I’ve never seen a console where the memory was the right balance,” he said.

“Xbox 360, underbalanced. PlayStation 3, underbalanced. Simply because memory is the most expensive part, hence I wish there would be cheaper ways of doing memory so that memory doesn’t become an issue anymore.”

“If they find ways to cheapen the cost to a degree they could triple or quadruple their memory. Just say, ‘Hey we’re going to have 32 gigs of memory’. That would be quite amazing because memory can do so many more techniques and tricks.”

32 GB RAM is preposterous, I don’t know what Crytek is smoking sometimes, but it looks like 8 GB RAM could be very well possible. How did we come at the conclusion that the PS3 and Xbox 360’s successors will have 8 GB RAM based on those comments from Cevat? Well, he did say triple and quadruple and added 32 GB there, so that works out to be 8 GB.

Also according to a recent search result data by Google it seems people are searching more for Xbox 720 than PS4. Go on check on Google, type Xbox or PS and see what it predicts.
