actually the traditional gpu is the ps3 was a crutch as the custom hardware to handle graphics was hard to code to. In fact it wasn’t originally going to have a gpu. And the primary graphics engine was indeed more powerful and latter on it really began to show it.

Umm dx12 will just mean the api is more similar to what ps4 already has, end of the day ps4 has more gpu horsepower and more asyc compute units to make up for reduced cpu power. (Though they are now unlocking a core on ps4)
