And what constitutes poor sales? How many copies does Nioh need to sell to be good enough for the devs?

I guarantee you that every one of these “niche” titles with “poor” sales has met or exceeded expectations.

It’s called “variety,” genius. The more you have to choose from, the less likely it is that ALL those things will see huge sales. That, however, doesn’t prevent those titles from having respectable numbers.

Neither Tales nor Nier will do Uncharted numbers, but so what? I’d have gotten a PS4 for titles like those even if Uncharted didn’t exist. And that’s the whole point.

When you start having a lot of games to choose from, you stop having individual system sellers, and the library as a whole becomes that system seller.
