Unfortunately, when you split bug fixing and optimization time in half as they did with the introduction of the NEO, you can expect the quality of new PS4 titles to fall back to launch quality rather than current quality games like Uncharted 4.

I say this as a completely disappointed PS4 owner. Is it obsolete? No, it’s just not as good as it was a couple months ago.

PS4 was released at the beginning of 2014, and it is already being made obsolete by Neo’s announcement. So, i imagine in 2018 they will release PS4… Neotero (Neo means new and young in Greek Neotero means newer). The consoles’ long life span, something that the console owners boasted about, is officially over.

Depends on how you look at it.
If you think the console’s life ends when its successor is out, then I’d say it’s about 3 to 4 years. And if you think the console’s life come to an end when the devs start to stop making a game for it, then I’d say it will take about 6 to 7 years. Could be shorter if the new engine is developed that demands even higher hose power. That’s my speculation
