Sony has gone ahead and made The Last of US PlayStation 4 bundle the base SKU for the PS4, as every unit of the console will now come bundled with the game.
From Sony’s perspective, the move makes sense, of course- the players buy the system, and they also get access to what is the best game on it currently (as well as the best game on its predecessor, and one of the best games of last generation, period), and in the process, The Last of Us gets even more exposure, which is good for them if they are planning on growing it into a series, which they probably are. It also makes sense, because for those who have not yet bought the system- a number that grows smaller by the day, but still- the PS4 is now a much more lucrative deal.
“If you’ve managed to hold out on upgrading to PS4 for this long or if you have a stack of gift cards laying around after the holidays, now is the perfect time to get in on the action,” Sony said on the PlayStation Blog.
