having a laugh? my mate is on his 4th PS4 whilst my PC has been going for 6 years and still so sign of giving up

Let’s be real here, any real good gaming PC is gonna cost well over $1000.00 and that’s without a proper 4k monitor or Television. Compared to a $1700.00 PS4 Pro and TV, I’d say we’re well ahead as far as cost, Oh, and don’t forget about the reliability of a PS4 as opposed to a PC. PS4 replacement isn’t required for better than 6 plus years…let’s see you get that out of any gaming PC!

Yes to 360 gen being longer than 4 years, and yet again ( like XBOX gen ) this current gen could be cut short due to MS not being the wanted console this gen ( like XBOX to PS2 / = Xbone to PS4 )

If you look at past history ( shown above ) it makes sense that Scorpio *could* be MS next gen console while PS5 *could* be released a year to 18 month later.

How are MS cutting short a generation. If according to you, 4 years is their normal gen length and they are going with another 4 year length, then that’s the same, not cutting it.

What about the gen length between 360 and XB1 that you failed to mention. 7 years. Is that the gen length you are claiming has been cut.

The gen length is not controlled by the platform holder, it’s governed by the advances in tech by the chip manufacturers. In this case AMD.

It’s a mid gen upgrade that stays within the current gen, but offers a higher quality performance, better graphics and a high quality 4K output at a low price for those that want it.

That’s it. If you want that, buy it. It’s not going to change your life.

If people just see Teraflops & newer architecture making a console better than another console with less Teraflops & older architecture that may not be the case as the above post showed.

In my opinion the Scorpio is really MS’s next gen console and they are cutting this gen short like they did with XBOX to Xbox 360. Time will tell☺

Microsoft already pointed out the fact that they were thinking about goin with the Pro’s GPU and CPU setup, but that it wasn’t enough power to accomplish what they need. So they know about the Pro.
