The newest Media Create report is out for Japanese game hardware and software sales, and, much like with last week, the PS4 has topped the hardware charts this week, with 52,500 units sold. The still-supply constrained Switch ended up selling a respectable 43,000 units sold, with the 3DS coming in at a flaccid third place with 12,000 units. Interestingly enough, the Xbox One saw a sudden surge last week, selling almost 1,400 units.
On the software front, Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, which launched in Japan last week, ended up topping the charts, selling almost 67,000 units. Gintama Ranbu, a new PS4 game that launched last week as well, came in second place. Elsewhere on the charts, Switch games continued to exhibit long legs, while Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition underperformed.
Next week should prove to be one of the most interesting ones we have had for Japanese sales in a while, with the impending release of Monster Hunter World, exclusively on the PS4 in Japan…
