That Quantic Dream is working on something related to the PlayStation 4 was already well known, particularly given how Sony tapped into them to give a demonstration of what could feasibly be achieved on the hardware with some sweet tech. However, now we have somewhat more of an idea as to what this might be, thanks to Quantic Dream themselves.
Job listings on their website describe the PS4 project as ‘AAA’ and ‘ambitious,’ and state that the next game will be based in interactive storytelling. For anyone who hasn’t been keeping score of the studio and its games so far, that isn’t exactly a big surprise.
The other things mentioned in the job listings are motion capture (again, unsurprising), photo-realistic assets (ditto), real time hair and cloth (getting pretty specific here, but sure), and perhaps most interestingly, a mention of ‘sci-fi props,’ which implies that the next game might be a departure from the relatively more grounded settings of all of Quantic Dream’s games so far.
For those of you who are interested in the kinds of titles David Cage and Quantic Dream make, this should perhaps be exciting news. Maybe this will be one of the titles Sony showcases at their E3 presser this year.
