Reggie Says Processing Power Doesn’t Matter due to Software

8 Minute long video interview

David Ewalt from Forbes managed to get an interview with Reggie Fils-aime from Nintendo. David Ewalt threw in a couple of questions such as how did Nintendo feel about themselves after the events of E3 2013 and if releasing the Wii U a year earlier than PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was the right thing to do.

However, one of the most interesting questions that was pitched at Reggie Fils-aime was how does Nintendo feel about the Wii U’s graphical capabilities and processing power compared Sony’s and Microsoft’s next-generation platforms? According to Reggie Fils-aime it’s all about the software and processing power doesn’t matter.

While I personally somewhat agree with his statement, but the problem is that the Wii U has been and still is lacking software and leaves much to be desired. Plus, next-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can actually take advantage of their hardware to create amazing game experiences that we have never seen before. In my book, you buy a Nintendo console to play Nintendo games, and that’s about it.
