So, according to you, Dark Souls and Skyrim are the only two games that have had a major impact on the gaming industry in recent years?

I got Demon’s Souls in November 2009. Demon’s Souls pulled the Souls games into the spotlight halfway. Dark Souls 1 did it all the way. I definitely noticed it after it came out. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Demon’s Souls were already games that you had probably heard of.

I even talked about both games with someone, before Skyrim and Dark Souls 1 came out, who I didn’t think knew about them. “Wow, this person has played Demon’s Souls?” One of the things that came up was the difficulty in Demon’s Souls. I also remember seeing talks about it on Youtube and other places on the internet.

So Oblivion and Demon’s Souls were already a phenomenon but their sequels brought both The Elder Scrolls and the Souls series fully into the spotlight.

We don’t “need” a remaster at all, lol. Most people with a modern gaming system have access to this game already. It’s already available via Backcompat for Xbox One. PC gamers don’t need any special treatment. and it will most likely be available soon to PSNow. Completely eliminating the need for a remaster.
