REPORT- Wii U in “development hell”; controllers were “rushed” and “still don’t work properly”

A Nintendo insider has told 01net.com that Nintendo rushed the Wii U Controllers’ final architecture, and that they “still don’t work properly”. The system, he says, is in “development hell.”

“According to our source, it seems that the final architecture has been rushed through the door, with undesirable consequences,” the 01 report reads.

The controller includes “inadequate” streaming and wireless functionality, two features very important to the system. The consoles main chip set “may be a tad too cheap”, the report continues.

“So far, the wireless functions simply do not work at all,” and as a result, developers are still working with a tethered controller.

“Many developers are feeling lost, their progress impeded by a distinct lack of visibility, their working hours by the quasi-paced daily software updates,” the report continued.

01.net claims that developers are expecting a June 2012 release date, but the engineers at Nintendo may have some problems with finishing the tech properly and polishing it in time.
