Wesker is pretty much the only reason to buy this game again. Or better yet just buy the original version for pocket change. There is nothing else that comes to mind when mentioning RE5.

RE5 port to ps4 and xbox as of right now has major frame rate problems its supposed to be set at 60 fps but it can go down to as much as 40 fps at times, i dont see how this is possible when RE6 port ran smoothly despite being the newer game, So until RE5 gets a patch im not gonna buy it

RE5 was hella fun, and the game looked fantastic, but as a Resident Evil game it's sorely lacking. It was the first game in the series that just didn't feel like Resident Evil to me. The sun-baked Africa setting just does not lend itself to the more gothic tinged horror of the earlier games. But putting aside it's RE pedigree, and looking RE5 as purely as a game, it's pretty damn awesome, with very authentic feeling settings (probably the best looking video game up to that point-- the water sections were especially gorgeous), some brilliant level design, and gameplay that's completely addictive-- i'm not very good at video games, but i played RE5 so much that i got an 'S' rating on Professional in every chapter except two (the driving section and the Ndesu battle-- i'm not a glutton for punishment). The game was fun for sure, but sometimes that's just not enough.

I did like Sheva though-- i'm not one for multi-player or co-op (especially in a horror game), and i hardly ever like AI partners, but Sheva is a cool character, and i didn't mind having her around. She's more Alex Vance, less Ashley Graham. I'd definitely like to see more of her in future games.

So as a stand alone game, RE5 gets a 9 from me. But as a Resident Evil game, i give it about a 7.5.

That said, i just might have to pick this remaster up and give it another go.
