The lesson? Be sure Microsoft pays you a HUGE check to lose that launch momentum on other platforms. Remember, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, and Titanfall all went to PC. All but Titanfall had delayed PC releases. Well, and Sunset Overdrive that remains marooned on Xbox to this day.

Be sure the check MS gives you is enough to help compensate for the fact by the time you show up on other platforms your game is old news.

Your anecdotes about your friends don’t trump multiple publisher and industry surveys that the show the percentage of digital games sales on console is 20%.

But hey, you need any excuse for why your naff exclusives flop. It sadly doesn’t explain how Fallout 4 and COD met retail expectations.

You keep telling yourself that friend. 20 people I know personally all buy digital. That’s 100% of the gamers I know in the real world who haven’t bought a retail disc in over a year.

Sorry to tell yah but retail sales are dying and digital are king. Get with the times or get out but insulting me isn’t going to change a damn thing.

Digital sales make up 20% of total sales, moron.

EB was great when they were a private company but about a year before the merger they went public on the stock market and became GameStop Jr. Such a shame. It was just a good store to be in.

I used to trade but its such a rip off I don’t anymore. One thing I must admit and this is a guilty pleasure but maybe once a month I’ll crawl through GameStop and look for any games I can find for anything from $0.25-$6.00 and scoop them up. The only rule is if I know its bad from experience I won’t buy it and I won’t buy anything sports unless it’s racing.

My best trip was 47 games for about $30. I’d say I found maybe 10 hidden gems that I really enjoyed that trip.

Other than that I’ll avoid the store as much as possible. Even my son will now give me money to buy him a game digitally. He understands trades but also sees they are a rip off.

I miss funcoland. That store… Man you could get really good money for a trade at that store.

I wish Microsoft had the same specials on digital copies that they do for physical copies in the microsoft store. I’d be happy if they sold digital copies of all games in the store and include them in the same promotions that physical copies get
