Second Hand Wii U buyers can access games bought by previous owner

Who doesn't like free games?

It seems there has been a licensing issue on the Wii U as a bunch of users have reported that they can get any content for free that the previous owner has bought on the system.

This is obviously only working on second hand Wii U consoles right now, and Nintendo has not done anything about this. We suspect there will be a firmware update soon to fix this issue.

The issue is because of the games being linked to the consoles and not the Nintendo Network id, which is not how it’s supposed to be, but Nintendo seems to be really primitive in that department.

Gamers on NeoGAF have been reporting this issue, and one gamer said that he got Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo for free. So basically what it means is that, if you bought a second hand Wii U console, you can download the games bought by the previous owner, because the games are linked to the console and not the id.
