In reply to trfe. The light bar isn't there for that, it is made of the same technology as the move and is designed to work with the camera to make the sixthaxis and motion even more accurate. Everything else is just a bonus

Light bar is another gimicky sony bad idea. Touchpad, home, batarang controller…they say that the light will change colors to tell you what’s happening in the game. Are you going to look away from the screen to look down at your controller during gameplay? Sony makes so many bad decisions.

In reply to Nick TwinkleToes Setzer. The first pic is actually the PS Eye showing a direct feed of the gamers playing in front of the TV. Of course you will see the light bar, lol. The second pic is also a PS4 Eye app (play room) which does not have enough graphics of its own and thus has most of the screen black. When actual colors appear on the screen this won't be an issue.

I really hate sony for all the love they show to America! Europe is where all the REAL PS gamers are! Xbox outsold PS in America, and its thanks to us in Europe for making the PS3 outsell the xbox worldwide, and yet America gets the app, and the fucking PS4 before we do! I’m sick of Sony catering to americans who do not even appreciate them (which is probably why they get everything before us). Pisses me off!

It’s really not an issue either way, but it is clear it will kill battery life and it does reflect off the screen. That is just fact. (half of which proven in the previously linked pictures.)
