No, texture data is identical between console versions. Sometimes texture streaming issues crop up in one or the other version, or even on PC. That’s dependent on hard drive speed. If you run a game off an SSD texture streaming issues are much less.

“Sharper colors” is just the crushed blacks bug on the Xbox that can be replicated by adjusting the contrast or sharpness on your display. Oversharpening and crushed blacks are a bad thing for visual quality.

PS4 is selling on price/performance, better visuals on console multiplats, better PR, long term 1st party support, more total games, and greater Japanese dev support.

AF (anisotropic filtering, or texture filtering) is higher on PS4, you can see it on ground textures stretching into the distance.

SSAO (ambient occlusion) is better with more shadow coverage around edges.

No screen tearing is easy to confirm, PS4 is v-synced while Xbox tears frequently. turning v-sync on the Xbox version locks it at 30 fps.

Higher average framerate is easy to spot by the analysis graph.

Well I’m not downplaying anything. Everyone knows official specs nod to PS4, but it’s that 50% POWAH, that people aren’t SEEING. Even if mathematically it is, the multiplat argument some people are using as the reason to own a PS4 is way overblown. Case in point, we’re debating over which system runs frames and graphical elements better, which is MINUTE, to console gamers in general. People are buying the PS4 because of 1) Price advantage since launch 2) Availability 3) PS+ and Console strength. That is obvious and backed by studies months ago. And this comparison article proves what I’m saying, we’re debating not SO MUCH about resolution now, as we are about graphics features. In conclusion, the POWAH debate is OVERBLOWN. In some DF comparisons, Xbox outshines PS4 on sharper textures, colors and other things where PS4 usually performs better. X1 owners and unbiased gamers know this. Some people here don’t know how to handle the Cognitive Dissonance they experience lol.
