Earlier today some game play footage of the upcoming Sonic Lost World was posted to All Games Beta.
From the looks of things we can expect a return to the classic 2D platform game play of our favorite Sonic titles, but with some added 3D front facing action thrown in the mix. Additionally we see a few of Sonic’s new parkour-style moves, such as wall climbing and what looks like punting enemies.
Sonic has been a staple of the Nintendo game catalogue since Sega became a third party developer and licensed Sonic Advance to long time rivals Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. While Sonic has also been released under other platforms, the relationship with Nintendo systems has been long standing. In May of 2013, SEGA signed a deal with Nintendo which dictates that the next three Sonic titles be released exclusively for Nintendo.
Sonic Lost World is set to release in October of 2013 for Wii U and the 3DS.
