I said ill just phone up my credit card company and theyll give me the money back, response was then youll be in arrears and your account will be blocked. they suck so badly. £40 for TLOU:R which ive played 2 hours of in the last few months, yeah i really wanted to buy that game!!!

Exactly! Doesn’t make sense to have your credit card/bank info on PSN at all. Especially since you can load your psn wallet with money from paypal/psn cards. Actually I don’t have my credit card/bank account on Live either. Just safer to purchase cards.

The difference is the Xbox system allowa you to buy content on any console regardless of if its yours or not but the person can’t access that content with your login info. On a Sony system that content doesn’t check if its authorized it will work regardless of account info on whatever PlayStation it was bought on. So to call ms and say the charge is fraud isn’t the way to go because they have no way of knowing since the user used your login info. This has more benefits than the Sony system but it has one flaw as your friends found out.

Anytime your credit card info is used without permission you ahoips notify the service it was used on but don’t expect a refund. The refund process is done via your bank through a charge back.

Why? There is no way for Sony, Microsoft or anyone to really know if it was fraud or just buyer remorse. When you initiate a charge back the backs insurance returns your funds then as was the case with your friend an investigation is opened and the account is frozen. The reason it can take many weeks to months is because its not just Microsoft or Sony investigating. Its also multiple banks and insurance companies as well as the government. Communication between them can at times be slow especially the banks and insurance. They don’t want to give the money back so they wait and watch spending habits to build a deeper profile then report back to say Microsoft or Sony at which point the account is reopened. Luckily Microsoft gives you free time on xbl to make up for the delay unfortunately Sony does not, at least not yet

PS4 first console ive owned since N64 so looking about 20 years, have account details stored on multiple online sites no problems with this stuff in 10-15 years especially seeing as i can tell if an e-mail is phishing for info so i just delete it, PSN 1 1/2 months and that happened. Anyone who believes there upgrading there network security is a fool. dont store any of your information on there
