You don’t understand, for MS, “Xbox” isn’t just about their proprietary boxes anymore, it’s about spreading their gaming brand and its API set on all Windows devices, making it MUCH larger than PlayStation will ever be and will make them far more money. Besides you’ll still have some exclusives which they will need to sell their boxes.
Just be glad that with crossbuying you’ll get your console version and the superior PC version all for one price (hopefully). For developers there isn’t much more to do, especially with DirectX12, PC and Xbox builds are nearly the same at a code level.
