Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man has been in development for quite a while it seems and will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. This is according to creative director Bryan Intihar who spoke to Geoff Keighley on YouTube Live about some of the features that fans can look forward to.
Along with confirming the open world setting, Intihar revealed that the game won’t be based on the films, instead opting for an original story that explores Spider-Man’s duality. Think of this as Insomniac’s “own Spider-Man universe” and while some liberties will be taken (like with Spidey’s design), it will still adhere to the franchise’s tradition.
Described as Insomniac’s biggest game and Marvel’s most ambitious, Spider-Man is looking better every day and will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. It’s published by Sony Interactive Entertainment so that’s expected. For now, Spider-Man is the working title – we’ll see what the full name will be in the coming months.
