Early access only works if you've got a reputation or a brilliant idea. Games can't keep working on this early model because soon the punters won't be buying due to poor releases. Games being too buggy, lack of content, and then amazingly DLC comes out before the core game is fixed. For games like StarCitizen it works, and that's because of Mr.Roberts.
Developers need to understand that creating games has NEVER been a right, it's a privilege, and the developers of yesteryear had to do the hardwork between a 9-5 job to create a finished product. Just because you want to be a programmer doesn't mean we want to buy your crap, prove it by making something worthwhile. If you can't develop a game in concept in your own time then you've no business writing games to begin with. It's not all about profit to some writers and it's their games I buy.

I think the games that adapt this model has made it a disgrace and it will be bad for companies that can actually meet deadlines and want to go early access in the future. In my post below, you can find some statistics and my observations regarding the system.
