In reply to gameformetoo. The idea is awesome. But steam machine at the time they were announced and released were anachronistic. Discussions about a mainstream living room pc i think is most appropriate now when we have 14 nm tech. Prior, not efficient enough for sff pc.. and not cheap enough. $300-$500 is the price mainstream would pay. And its got to look petite in living room. And the solution is with smaller transistors at 14nm and lower where smaller living room tech will be nice in the house.

not worried. 3-5 years from now they’ll pick up once microsoft finish running pc gaming down to the ground. there’s already talk about developers going over to steamos cause of uwp. valve knows what they’re doing. this is the same thing with the steam client years ago, now look at it. valve has money to burn. they’ll be good.

I thought they were a good idea but price mixed with the issues of Linux gaming just made them unattractive. That said I expected better sales than this.

Hopefully valve keeps people on board until vulkan launches. That should give a much needed boost to Linux gaming.
