That is the ENTIRE reason.  Insomniac Games wants to OWN their Intellectual Property.  Sony would not let them do that.

All of the other previous &quot;Insomniac Games&quot; Sony has all the rights.

Insomniac Games did not want that anymore.  Insomniac Games wants to own their game.  And the only company willing to give them that for Sunset Overdrive was Microsoft Studios.

In all honesty, the fact that Insomniac Games does own the IP now, that means it is VERY likely that Sunset Overdrive 2 will be multiplatform and not an Xbox exclusive.  Insomniac Games can do what they choose with their game going forward.

					<description><![CDATA[Yeah, this really doesn&#039;t explain why the game is a Xbox One exclusive.  I don&#039;t overly care.  The game doesn&#039;t look like my cup of tea at all, but anyone with a half a brain knows that the game could easily run on the PS4.  Insomniac is trying to explain why they didn&#039;t take money to make their game exclusive for the Xbox One, when everyone with an ounce of common sense already knows that they did.  PR stupidity.]]></description>
