It took them nearly a year from the initial launch of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, but the fourth instalment in the Smash series will finally be getting a Tournament Mode of its own. That’s right, originally announced in the pre-launch Nintendo Direct for Smash Wii U last year, Tournament Mode will be launching on July 31 for Super Smash Bros. It will be a full featured mode, too, allowing not only for offline local tournaments, but also the capacity to schedule, host, and conduct tournaments online.
The Tournament Mode is not the only new addition Smash is getting, either, as two classic Smash stages – Hyrule Castle and Mushroom Castle, both from the original N64 Super Smash Bros. game – will also be made available alongside the Tournament Mode for the game. Both were originally announced in the pre-E3 Smash Direct last month, and it’s nice to see such a rapid turnaround for both of them.
All of this new content launches for Smash on July 31, so have your systems ready. Super Smash Bros. is out now on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
