Following its most recent stream for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo announced that more characters would be coming post-launch via DLC. There will be 5 “sets” of DLC, each retailing for $5.99 and containing one fighter apiece, along with an additional stage and music. Instead of purchasing them separately, players can avail of the Fighters Pass for all 5 sets at $24.99.
Of course, as an incentive for picking up the Fighters Pass, consumers will receive a Mii Swordfighter costume resembling Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Music from the Xenoblade Chronicles series will also be provided. Director Masahiro Sakurai noted that development on downloadable content would only begin after the main game releases.
So basically, all content from the Fighters Pass will be available by February 2020. It’s not a bad proposition, especially since the development team wants to focus on the main game before committing to any DLC. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be releasing on December 7th for the Nintendo Switch.
