Super Smash Bros. Ultimate May Get Version 2.0 Next Week, With Loads Of Balance Changes – Rumor

A new challenger (I mean update) is approaching.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a resounding critical and commercial success, but the game isn’t resting on its accolades. DLC for it has already been announced, and we know that Piranha Plant, the first post launch character for the game, is due to come out for it in February as well.

However, that might not be all. According to OatmealDome – a hacker who has previously given heads up on impending Splatoon 2 updates – and shared by SSBUBot on Twitter, an update 2.0.0 is planned for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for next week. No specifics about what it might entail are included, however we can expect it to possibly add support for Piranha Plant. We are told it may have a “lot of balance changes”, for what it is worth, and that current replays will not be compatible with it (which means you may want to convert your existing replays to video if you don’t want to lose them).

For now, this is a rumor, but none of this seems unlikely enough (except for the huge version number change, at any rate). Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out on Nintendo Switch now.
