Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Minecraft’s Steve and Alex Now Available

Update 9.0.0 is also live with new Spirits and changes to Global Smash Power calculation.

Nintendo has released the latest Challenger Pack for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it’s Steve and Alex from Minecraft. Along with new fighters, update 9.0.0 has also been released which adds new Spirits from Minecraft like the Zombie, Creeper and Enderman. It also adjusts combat controls when spectators are present and how Global Smash Power is calculated.

When it comes to Steve and Alex, there are several interesting new mechanics at play. Along with using an axe, sword and pickaxe to fight, they can mine materials. Crafting is necessary to keep using tools and depending on the materials used, they can be stronger (like using a Diamond Sword instead of a regular one).

Challenger Pack 7 is available for $5.99 and included with Fighters Pass Vol. 2 for $24.99. Along with Minecraft’s Steve and Alex, several Mii Fighter costumes are also available to purchase like the Diamond Helmet and Armor, Bomberman’s Mask and Armor and Travis’s Wig and Armor. Stay tuned for more details on subsequent updates and DLC fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the coming months.
