If you haven’t heard, Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is pretty darn good (even if multiplayer connections and matchmaking need improvement). While it hasn’t even been out a week, its first update has already been dated. According to a notice that pops up in-game, players can expect version 1.2.0 to arrive “within the next week”.
The message also noted that replays currently in the game will not be viewable after the update. You’ll need to convert them to videos in order to retain each hard-earned victory for posterity. The real question now is: Who’s getting nerfed and/or buffed in the update?
It’s an odd question, especially since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hasn’t had a ton of time to breathe in the public space, in spite of the fact that a ridiculous amount of people already seem to have bought it. Pro players may have their own tier lists, but perhaps more data from the general population is required? Then again, we don’t know if any balance changes are even being made. Stay tuned for more information as it arrives.
