Telltale Games has revealed a launch trailer for The Walking Dead: 400 Days, a DLC expansion to the award-winning The Walking Dead Episodes, released last year by the developer for Steam, XBLA and PSN. 400 Days will be retailing for PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and iOS between the 2nd and 11th of July. It will also be making its way to the Vita in August as part of a bundle with The Walking Dead.

As a sort of bridging episode between the first and second season, 400 Days will include new characters who may or may not hog the spotlight in the second season. The DLC will take place during the first 400 days of the zombie apocalypse, running concurrent with on-going events from the first season and eventually building up to the second.

Interestingly enough, the narrative style of the game goes from one character perspective to another, eventually culminating in the interaction of all five stories a la Pulp Fiction. Let’s see if it can create a huge impact like the Episodes before it.

Sony’s E3 press conference started well enough as Jack Tretton took to the stage to announce that Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead would be heading to the PlayStation Vita. And not just Season 1 of the episodes either, but this includes the 400 Days DLC as well as some bonus content for release in Summer.

A PlayStation Vita bundle is already being planned wherein you can pick up the handheld along with The Walking Dead Season 1, 400 Days and the bonus content in question.


It’s also been announced that PlayStation Vita will be receiving a bunch of remastered classics, with Flower and Dead Nation among other titles to arrive on the handheld.

This isn’t counting the other titles poised to release this year including Tearaway, Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate, Killzone Mercenary and many more. Stay tuned as Sony just starts out its press conference.

The video teases another character, this one named Shel, and a flash of two zeroes can be seen in between.

Considering that DLC for The Walking Dead, titled “400 Days”, was discovered on the Steam Database, it’s now completely certain that these teasers are meant to hype up the DLC. The two zeroes for the same can even be seen in this teaser, for crying out loud. It also fits in with the “Day” titling of the videos.

While it’s somewhat disappointing that this isn’t related to Season 2 of Telltale Games’ iconic, episodic adventure game series (or is it?), it should be interesting to see what they do with 400 Days. Even if it provides an altogether different but still compelling perspective set in The Walking Dead universe, we’ll be satisfied. Look for Telltale to reveal more details as E3 rolls closer.

We’ve been seeing teasers on Vine from Telltale Games in the style of The Walking Dead for a few days now. Each teaser indicates a different character being pinned to a board by some one (or something, you never know), and we thought this meant the developer was already getting ready to debut Season 2 of the adventure game series.

Turns out it could be something else related to The Walking Dead though. A recent listing on the Steam Database indicates DLC for The Walking Dead, called “400 Days”. There’s no indication as to what platforms it will be coming to, with the only extra info saying “Encrypted”.

As of now, DLC isn’t necessarily the worst thing, though we wonder how DLC could be added to a single episode (unless this is DLC for the entire series, available on both retail and digital download). Stay tuned for more information and news on just where The Walking Dead is shuffling.
