Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s achievements have finally been announced and they help give us all a little bit of insight into how exactly the latest Call of Duty game will work. Keep in mind however that, at the time of writing, there is no way of knowing what gamer-score these achievements will confer to gamers. Slight spoilers are ahead so you have been warned.

Part pun, part oddity, “Carma” will pop if you “Kill an enemy by throwing a car door at them.” That’s just hilariously blunt.

There’s the Never Saw It Coming” achievement which should unlock when you perform a boost jump followed by a forward dash and finished with a ground stomp that kills an enemy. Using your Exo to evade a total of 20 Grenades will unlock “Escape Artist”.

The “Advanced Soldier”, “Second Skin” and “We Have The Technology” achievements will unlock when the player begins the process of upgrading their Exo. A fully upgraded Exo grants the “Power Changes Everything” achievement.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is out on November 4th for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.

Here’s one for the cheaters, that don’t like to be called cheaters. Yes I’m looking at you, yes you, Mr strategy guide user.

There’s a new App in bound for the Xbox One and it’s going to maker you ‘chievo popping life much easier and a great deal less frustrating. The TrueAchievements App will help you track and pop those achievements that stubbornly remain locked. It even has a rather impressive list of features:

Achievement Guides – The TrueAchievements’ App will cover over 90% of the acheivments that you’re likely to find in your Xbox games, this will be aided by community generated advice on how to get the unlock. This includes video and image content.

Gaming sessions – TrueAchievements’ allows players to arrange and track your upcoming multiplayer sessions, this will most definitly helpy with getting some of the more bothersome multiplayer achievements that are become more and more common.

True Scoring System – Ever get one achievement that was as simple as a triple bypass surgery only to get rewarded with 50 points? No more! TrueAchievements’ will reward you more points for harder to earn achievements. How kind.

News – TrueAchievements’ will also keep you up to date on all the most recent Xbox News, be it Xbox One, 360, news features or editorials. You can find it all in the App.

Isn’t that a nice little package? Well keep an eye out, because it’s set to hit the X1 soon!

There's something for everyone in the upcoming firmware update.

The July firmware update for the Xbox One is nearly on the verge of release and will add some fairly interesting features to the mix. This includes the ability to Snap Achievements while playing a game and even track Achievements in the process. So if you’re curious how many more zombies you need to kill in order to unlock that next Achievement in Dead Rising 3, this is the best way to do it.

The update also adds a new Double-Tap to Snap feature. Simply tap on the Xbox button to bring up the Snap Center and you’ll be able to Snap whatever apps you want. You can also use it to switch between the game you’re playing and the app snapped.

There are other features incoming including enhanced voice support for select regions to stay tuned for more information. What are your thoughts on the July update? Let us know in the comments.

Details for the Xbox One’s July update have been confirmed by Major Nelson and there will be a healthy amount of new features on the way. The most important one is Snap Mode for Achievements, which allows you to keep track of Achievement progress while playing the game. You can even get helpful tips and tricks via the new “Get Help” feature.

Also, if you double-tap on your controller, you’ll bring up the Snap Center, which allows you to launch various apps for snapping while still in-game. You can also double-tap between your game and an app you already have snapped.

Other new additions include new choices for spoken languages in New Zealand, Ireland and Austria; support for digital bundles and compilation discs in the future; and future support liking DVR clips and other news items via SmartGlass.

What are your thoughts on the soon-to-arrive update? Let us know in the comments below.

But no, seriously. You can possess a cat.

Airtight Games’ Murdered: Soul Suspect will focus on detective looking to capture his murderer from beyond the grave and there’s a lot that needs to be done in that respect. This can be seen in the Achievements for the Xbox version of the game, which recently surfaced. There are 48 Achievements in total worth 1000 Gamerscore and some of them actually spoil key gameplay elements.

That being said, possessing a cat to gain some sort of key insight is interesting, if nothing else. You’ll also receive Achievements for learning about different characters’ lives, discovering new stories and completing investigations. Some Achievements also hint at other spirits that could be making an appearance in-game and how you’ll be dealing with their fates.

Murdered: Soul Suspect releases on June 3rd in North America and June 6th in Europe for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Stand by for neck snapping accolades.

The recent beta for Titanfall has attracted all and sundry, apparently seeing 2 million unique users when it was held from February 14th to 19th. Erstwhile users have managed to scour the code for map names, descriptions and images that will figure in the final game, and now an apparent Achievements list for the Xbox One version has emerged courtesy of NeoGAF.

The Achievements list for the Xbox 360 version of From Software’s Dark Souls 2 has been revealed, and it contains the usual assortment of awards. You get Achievements for lighting bon-fires, inheriting different sets of armour, discovering and joining different Covenants and much more. Heck, you even get an Achievement for dying for the first time in the game. The name of that Achievement? “This is Dark Souls”. Indeed.

There’s a fair amount of information about the different enemies and bosses in the game, which could qualify as minor spoilers. Seeing the awesome array of enemies in the recent Cursed trailer, there will be a number of dangerous foes either way.

Dark Souls 2 will be releasing on March 11th in North America and March 14th in Europe for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Will you be picking it up and preparing to die when it releases? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

So, er, spoilers.

The Achievements for the Xbox 360 version of Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, which serves as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, have been revealed. While the overall 1000 Gamerscore Achievement list reveals the standard objectives to be completed, it also indicates a rather interesting choice to be made during a mission. Spoilers, of course, lay below.

In the game, Snake is tasked with rescuing Chico and Paz after the former gets captured in an attempt to save the latter. However, there’s a 50G Achievement titled “Reunion” which you get for rescuing either individual. Does this mean we’ll be forced to choose between the two at some point? It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this plays out. Another Achievement has been listed for a mission that involves you rescuing a prisoner on death row. Let the speculations commence then.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes releases on March 18th in North America and March 20th in Europe for current and next gen consoles.
