After running for just shy of a year, Respawn has announced that Apex Legends Mobile is being shut down on May 1.

Developer Respawn has announced that Apex Legends Mobile will be shutting down. The studio has revealed that the decision is being made because of a lack of quality, quantity, and cadence in the new content coming to Apex Legends Mobile.

The studio has also released a statement announcing plans to sunset the game on Twitter.

“Our gratitude to our players and teams for joining us on Apex Legends Mobile, even if for a short while, is unending,” says the statement. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”

Apex Legends Mobile has now kicked off its 90-day window of sunsetting. The game is slated to be no longer playable in all regions on May 1, at 4pm PDT.

Purchases made through the mobile battle royale will remain available to players to enjoy throughout the sunsetting period of the game. Respawn has revealed that players will not be getting a refund for any purchases made in the game.

In an FAQ about the end of life for Apex Legends Mobile, Respawn has stated that this will not effect development of content for Apex Legends on PC and consoles, and that the studio will be revealing plans for updates in the future.

Rhapsody the DJ is a nrand-new mobile-first Legend who comes with her own AI-controlled helper bot called Rowdy.

Apex Legends Mobile has been out for a couple of months at this point, and has provided a solid alternative battle royale experience for those looking for a dose of Respawn Entertainment’s offerings on the go (or, you know, you could just play the Switch version). Now, the next chapter for the mobile title is also almost here, and Respawn and EA have provided a sneak peak of what it’ll bring to the table.

Season 2: Distortion will launch on July 12, and it’ll bring both, a new map and a new playable Legend. The new map is Pythas Block 0, a neon-lit cyberpunk city set at nighttime. The new Legend, meanwhile, is Rhapsody, a DJ who joins the party as the first mobile-first Legend for Apex Legends. With a buddy helper bot named Rowdy by her side, this music-loving daughter of a brilliant engineer is looking to help her family out of the clutches of poverty. Get a glimpse of both below.

Apex Legends Mobile is available on iOS and Android.

Along with 10 playable Legends at launch, the mobile version includes 3v3, Team Deathmatch, Quick Battle and Battle Royale modes.

Apex Legends Mobile is rolling out worldwide today at 2 AM PDT/5 AM BST/1 PM JST/10 AM AEST. It’s already live in some regions (as revealed in the launch schedule tweet below) and a new gameplay trailer has also been released. Check it out below.

The launch trailer provides our first look at Fade, the new mobile-exclusive Legend. Along with gaining a brief boost to movement speed after sliding, he can harness the Void for several abilities. Flashback allows for rewinding to a previous location several seconds prior. Phase Chamber sends any Legends caught in range into the Void, preventing them from dealing or taking damage for a certain amount of time.

Along with Fade, the mobile version’s launch roster includes Mirage, Wraith, Lifeline, Gibraltar, Caustic, Pathfinder, Bangalore and so on. Available modes include Quick Battle, Team Deathmatch, 3v3 and the classic Battle Royale. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

New cinematic trailer sees Mirage finally getting a big win over Wraith. A new challenger is also teased to be joining the roster.

After a report stating the same, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have confirmed that Apex Legends Mobile launches on May 17th. Pre-registrations are available for iOS and Android along with a new cinematic trailer for Season 1’s launch. Check it out below.

The mobile version of the battle royale title features 10 Legends including Mirage, Caustic, Lifeline, Wraith, Pathfinder, Gibraltar and so on. There’s also a tease of a new challenger climbing the ranks, one that Apex Predators leader Kuben Blisk has an interest in. According to a report by insider Tom Henderson, this is a mobile-exclusive character named Fade.

Like Wraith, Fade can also harness the Void’s powers, using Flash Back to rewind to an earlier position, Slipstream for a short boost to movement speed after sliding, and Phase Chamber to send all Legends within range to the Void. Though he wasn’t showcased in the trailer, Fade will reportedly receive more information in the coming days. Stay tuned in the meantime.

Fade is allegedly the tenth playable Legend and includes Void abilities, including an Ultimate that sends all players within range into the Void.

Apex Legends Mobile is out this month, as per Respawn Entertainment in a developer panel held last week. It confirmed that the free-to-play battle royale would have 10 playable Legends at launch along with classic versions of King’s Canyon and World’s Edge. According to sources speaking with insider Tom Henderson, it will be available on May 17th for iOS and Android.

In a report on Exputer, Henderson revealed that nine of the playable Legends are from the current game while the tenth is a mobile-exclusive character named Fade. His passive “Slipstream” provides a short boost to movement speed after a slide while his Tactical “Flash Back” allows the player to “Go back to where you were a while ago from the Void.” His Ultimate is called “Phase Chamber” and allows for deploying a phase cage to transport all Legends within range into the Void.

Fade apparently has a skull mask along with red and silver armor with gold highlights (though it’s noted that his appearance is different from Revenant). More insight on his background is reportedly coming in the next few days. The other Legends include Mirage, Pathfinder, Octane, Lifeline, Gibraltar, Caustic, Wraith, Bloodhound, and Bangalore.

Stay tuned for an official announcement in the coming week.

Apex Legends Mobile launched in select regions earlier this month, and Respawn Entertainment says it's currently aiming for a full launch this summer.

Apex Legends Mobile saw a limited launch in select regions of the world earlier this month, after having been in the works for a couple of years. Clearly, the wheels are in motion for the mobile battle royale port, and it seems we’re not far away from a full global launch for the game either.

Over on the official Apex Legends Mobile webpage, Respawn confirms in an FAQ that pre-registrations for the game are now live worldwide – for which they’ve also released a new trailer, which you can check out below – and that they’re currently targeting a full launch for the game this summer.

“When you pre-register for Apex Legends Mobile, you’ll be notified when the title is available in your region,” Respawn writes. “At present, we’re hopeful for a full launch this summer.” The developer does add, though, that that’s very much “a moving target”, so plans might change in the future.

The main version of Apex Legends, meanwhile, could be edging closer to its long-awaited PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launch, having recently also been rated for the platforms in Taiwan and Europe.

The soft launch for the mobile version of Respawn's free-to-play battle royale shooter has been slightly delayed "due to current world events."

Apex Legends Mobile – first officially announced nearly a year ago at this point – was supposed to be out in some regions of the world sometime this week, though if you were anticipating that launch, it turns out you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.

Respawn Entertainment recently took to Twitter to provide an update on the soft launch on the battle royale shooter’s mobile version. The developer says that Apex Legends Mobile will now launch on March 7, with its release being delayed “due to current world events”, referring to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing conflict in the region.

When Apex Legends Mobile launches next week for iOS and Android devices, at first, it’ll only be available in select countries- namely, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Colombia. Respawn has also previously confirmed that the mobile shooter won’t feature cross-play support with Apex Legends on PC and consoles, since it is “built specifically for mobile.”

Meanwhile, recent developments have suggested that Apex Legends could soon be seeing its native launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well. The current-gen versions of the game have been in the works for quite some time, and Respawn says that news will be arriving on that front “very, very shortly.”

Due to current world events, we made the decision to shift the limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile. Our intention is to now release the game to participating countries on March 7.

It will be available throughout Spring and feature Legends like Mirage, Wraith, Octane and more but won't feature cross-platform play.

Electronic Arts’ Apex Legends Mobile is finally releasing next week, but only for a select number of regions. A new FAQ revealed that the battle royale title would be available in 10 countries including New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, Argentina, Philippines, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, Malaysia, and Colombia. This is a limited release that will run through Spring as the team continues to work “on in-game systems, features, and more prior to launch!”

Pre-registrations for iOS and Android are currently available in these regions. Available Legends include Bloodhound, Bangalore, Octane, Caustic, Mirage, Pathfinder, Wraith, and more. More content and systems will be added for the full launch. As for a final release date, the developer is looking to make “information decisions” once the limited regional launch has concluded.

There is no cross-play with consoles or PC, since Apex Legends Mobile is built “specifically for mobile”, so it won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends. In terms of requirements, Android 8.1, 3 GB of space, and 3 GB of RAM is recommended for Android users while, Apple users require an iPhone 6S or later, 3 GB space, and 2 GB of RAM.
