Earlier today, the Tequati Rising update for Guild Wars 2 went live, featuring a new events and rewards, which the developers from AreaNet will demonstrate via livestream. The livestream will take place on the Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel on Friday, September 20th.

Here’s what to expect in the update:

New Events:
– The Dragon Tequatl: The ancient drafon will now be more formidable than ever, featuring an arsenal of now abilities and attacks.

New Features:
– “Looking For Group” tool: A tool that helps players find one another mid-adventure
– New Ruins of Power in World V World mode. Each map has been redesigned to include five new Ruins of Power
– Updated bosses, all of whom will now be more fun and more challenging
– New World V World mode ability, Flam Ram Mastery, which can knowck gates down and set things aflame

Rewards
– Wings of the Sunless – Earn this ominous new animated back by fighting against the Tequatl the Sunless.

There are record numbers of people playing Guild Wars 2 and the recent WvW and PvP updates are just the first drops in a shower of new updates.

Guild Wars 2 will now be available at  a lower price point of £34.99 for the Standard Edition and £49.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition.
The new price will be effective from 18:00 BST today, Tuesday 21^st May.

Guild Wars 2 latest updated brings refer-a-friend method which will no doubt encourage more people to check out how the game is. It’s pretty good too based on our review over here. If you have bought the game you can invite a friend for a free trail period from  November 15-18.

The new update which is set to hit on November 15 brings a multi-stage, one-time event that will forever change the world of Guild Wars 2.

The Lost Shores update is a mini-expansion worth of new content that brings players a lot of new amount of new areas to explore, challenges to conquer and goals to achieve. This is all punctuated with a massive one-time event that will change Tyria forever.

Here are the complete details of the update, which adds new dungeon to the game along with other things.

• A mysterious zone to explore, accessible to all players regardless of level
• A challenging new dungeon to conquer
• A new PvP map set within a Kodan dojo
• New gear to acquire, ranging from additional weapons skins to item enhancements to an additional tier of items between Exotic and Legendary.
• Crafting updates including a new resource to harvest and 200 new recipes
• A one-time in-game event that will forever leave its mark on the world of Tyria, starting Friday, November 16 and ending Monday, November 19.

AreaNet has announced that the first major Guild Wars 2 patch will be hitting the market on October 22nd, and the Halloween themed patch, called Shadow of the Mad King, will decorate the entire world of Guild Wars 2 in special Halloween decorations.

“Halloween has a long history in Tyria, and in times past was always marked by the spirit of Mad King Thorn cavorting among the people unleashing his own brand of insanity,” wrote ArenaNet. “However, it’s been over 250 years since he was last seen, and for most people he is merely a figure of folklore. Despite this, rumours persist among the populace that something wicked this way comes.”

“Be prepared for an epic adventure in four acts starting 22nd October and running until 31st October.”

That’s all the information they given so far, but it sounds promising.

People will be pleased to know that the game will contain consistent free content updates, according to AreaNet’s Colin Johanson.

This is what he had to say on the Guild Wars 2 forums:

“No need to buy them, Gw2 will feature consistent free content updates and in-game events going forward. Our goal is to make it so you get more from Gw2 for free than you get from a game you pay a subscription for.

“On top of a large amount of free bonus content, we will be expanding on offerings in the Black Lion Trading Company going forward, as well as be doing large-scale expansion content down the road. We’ll cover a lot of the details on the kind of support and plans we have in place over the next month or so on the GW 2 blog and with our press partners.

“We do appreciate that you’d like to buy lots of new content, but we’d prefer to give a lot of it to you for free, cause that’s what we think a responsible MMO company does!”

How cool is this? Developers like them should be rewarded for creating a solid game and supporting it with free content as well.

AreaNet has released a new patch for Guild Wars 2 which we have detailed for you. The game was reviewed very well worldwide and scored very high on GamingBolt as well. Here’s what our author had to say:

“This is one of the most amazing MMOs I have ever played, especially considering the fact that its free-to-play. ArenaNet has not only delivered on what they promised, but also surpassed my expectations,” wrote our author Leonid in his glowing review.

The game doesn’t have as many issues as Diablo 3 did, and that’s one of the major reasons why people are so invested in the game, and the word of mouth is quite positive too. The patch notes  is posted below so check it out.

Mesmer

• The Prestige – Fixed a bug so that Burning duration no longer amplifies when additional enemies are present.

Ranger

• Beastmastery Trait: Instinctual Bond – Now grants 5 seconds of quickness to the player’s pet and can only occur once every 50 seconds.

• Pets can no longer be revived using the “F” prompt. This is because you can either use F4 to swap pets which will bring that pet back alive or you can wait until you are out of combat at which point you pet will revive automatically. We felt it was doing a disservice to Ranger players to incentivize them to spend a long time reviving their pet when it was a very inefficient thing to do and happened after combat anyway. This will also help clear up “F” to interact functionality.

Guardian

• Tome of Wrath – Removed Stability, added Retaliation; increased the health of the transform

• * Zealot’s Fervor – Players can now move while casting this skill; increased cast time to 2 seconds; reduced maximum targets to 5
  * Judgment – Knockdown is now 3 seconds

• Tome of Courage – Removed Stability, added Protection
  * Heal Area – Base heal increased by 33%
  * Pacifism – Reduced maximum targets to 5; increased cast time to 2 seconds; reduced daze duration to 2 seconds

• Shield of Absorption. The second half of this skill will now unlock in PvE.

Story

• “Bad Blood” – Exiting the conversation will no longer arbitrarily lock the player into a choice

• “Mirror, Mirror” – Adjusted difficulty.

• “The Hatchery” You can no longer do the final step before doing the intermediate steps.

• “Dredging up the Past” – Fixed blocking bug during the first step.

General

• Fixes for various blocked events and skill challenges.

• PvP games played/won will not increment in activities.

• Fixes for various map bugs that allowed players to get out of the map.

• Interact “F” should use the following priority:
  1) Your current selection
  2) Loot
  3) Revive/Stomp
  4) Anything else

• Updated the recipe for Superior Rune of the Ranger to match the rarity of other Superior runes.

Guild Wars 2 glitch is causing people to lose money and this is happening to a lot of players as mentioned below in the forum post here.

The game has a Trading Post where people can buy or sell goods, sort of like the Diablo 3 version and some of the errors popping up are hilarious to say the least. It’s a known fact that online trading system in such games always get exploited and developers have to track down the issue and fix it to protect their userbase.

Glitches can be annoying as well, more specifically like the one this user encountered. Sometimes the screen doesn’t show anything like this screenshot below shows.

Areanet knows the issues people are facing and have assured that they will rectify it soon. Losing money can have a really bad effect on the userbase sometimes even force them to stop playing.

They have currently taken the trading post offline and this is what they had to say:

“We have taken the Trading Post offline while we investigate further, thank you for your continued patience with this matter,” tweeted the official Guild Wars 2 account.

Banhammer has been dropped on 3000 Guild Wars 2 players. Why? It’s because of an exploit of course. It has come to our knowledge that people have been exploiting the game using the Karma system.

What this does is that it allows players to buy items for cheap, and when I mean cheap, I mean almost for free. Players can then use these items and sell them at a higher cost, profiting massively.

“Today we banned a number of players for exploiting Guild Wars 2. We take our community and the integrity of the game very seriously, and want to be clear that intentionally exploiting the game is unacceptable. The players we banned were certainly intentionally and repeatedly exploiting a bug in the game. We intended to send a very clear message that exploiting the game in this way will not be tolerated, and we believe this message now has been well understood,” Chris Whiteside, Lead producer of Guild Wars 2 posted on Reddit.

“Please use the subject heading of “Karma Weapons Exploit Appeal”, then confirm in the body of your ticket that you will delete any items/currency that you gained from the exploit. You should submit only one ticket. Once you have done so, we will lower your ban to 72 hours, and following your re-activation we will check your account to make sure that you have honored your commitment. If that commitment is not honored, we will re-terminate the account.”
