In yet another leak coming to us courtesy of a ratings board, European ratings board PEGI has leaked a listing for ARMA Tactics for the Xbox One. The listing does not really tell us much about the game itself, but it does seem to suggest that the game, which is rated for players aged 16 and older, is a strategy game. We don’t yet know if this is the same ARMA Tactics that is already available for smart devices.

Interestingly enough, this would make the Xbox One the first current generation console to get an ARMA game. The ARMA franchise has traditionally been a stronghold of PC exclusive gaming, so it is going to be interesting to see how that translates over to a console environment. From the sound of things, they have approached the problem by seemingly porting a mobile game to consoles instead of a PC game.

We don’t yet know any more about ARMA Tactics, but as and when we learn more, we will update you. Stay tuned.

Bohemia Interactive’s turn based strategy tactical spin off for their critically acclaimed Arma series of authentic military simulators is now out on a variety of platforms and formats- this includes Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Arma Tactics is a turn based strategy game, in which players takes control of a four-member Special Forces team; the gameplay is completely free form, favoring no one strategy over the other like games in the genre often do, instead giving the player the choice to decide how to play (and consequently, of determining how the battle will turn out).

With unlockable weapons and progression perks, coupled with a highly liquid play style, Arma Tactics should have a lot of replay value. PC formats (that is, Windows, Mac OS, and Linux) get an additional campaign as well.

Are you going to get Arma Tactics? What platform are you planning on picking it up for?

You’ll have control over a Special Forces team, with four members that can be upgraded and customized to tackle different story and custom missions with random objectives. The player will have to decide how to proceed forward, whether to rely on stealth or go in guns blazing, and equipping different weapons for fighting off enemies like local militia and mercenaries. There will be weapons to unlock, more campaigns to come and a high amount of replayability overall.

There will also be different game modes and difficulty modes, and you’ll be able to use either touchscreen or gamepad controls for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

ARMA tactics was shown playing on the device and it runs well. There are smoke effects and other things that make it a bit better than the usual phone games we see nowadays.

The game is being developed by Bohemia Interactive for mobile devices and the game “is a turn-based close-combat strategy game, where the player takes control of a four-member Special Forces team. There are no given strategies, rails to move on, or paths to follow; it‘s up to the player to decide how he will play through both the story-driven missions and generated missions with randomized objectives.”
