The Assassin’s Creed franchise has been going from strength to strength ever since its inception, but people had started complaining about several things with the release of Revelations- the engine was starting to show its age, the combat system was dull, the story and characters were starting to get boring… However, with the reveal of AC3, it seems like Ubisoft is looking to regain the love of their fans.

Having been in development for the last 2-3 years and promising big changes to the formula, we’re expecting a lot from Assassin’s Creed 3. Maybe to the point of being unreasonable. But that’s just how it is, given the track record of this fantastic series.

So given below are nine things we thing Assassin’s Creed 3 simply must implement in order to meet those lofty expectations, that not just us, but everybody probably has.

Enjoy the article, and give us your feedback in the comments section below!

Connor should be a badass

From what we’ve seen so far, Connor is a pretty interesting character. He’s supposed to be quiet, stoic, and like every other assassin, really agile and skilful. Born in a backdrop of death and violence, he’s the perfect fit for the role of an assassin, and going back from the charm and open-mouthedness of Ezio to the stoicism and mysterious aura of Altair is sure going to be awesome.

More focus on Desmond

Desmond has been a pretty awesome character ever since his introduction in the first game, and so it is that we find the lack of his screentime so baffling and confusing. I mean, the story’s basically focussed on him and his exploits, and yet, he rarely gets to be in the spotlight. We want Assassin’s Creed 3 to have a larger focus on Desmond, maybe even more than Connor. His story has been developing nicely over the past four games, and seeing it culminating into the ending is going to be very exciting.

Answer all the burning questions

Assassin’s Creed is, perhaps, the video game equivalent of Lost in terms of the questions it raises and how it rarely answers them. Okay, maybe not that much, but since Assassin’s Creed 1, Ubisoft has raised a crapload of questions and answered very few of them. I mean, what the hell was Revelation’s ending about anyway? Sure, it was exciting and thrilling, but we have no idea what the hell it actually means. There’s a lot of unanswered questions left in the Assassin’s Creed universe, and we just hope Ubisoft can answer them all properly (without any rush) in one single game.
