The latest update for the early access rally racer has also brought a host of other improvements to driving and more events.

Developer Supernova Games Studios has released a new update for its early access rally racing game, Assetto Corsa Rally. It’s headlined by the addition of two classic cars from the 1990s—the Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Car and the Subaru Impreza S3 Group A. The former will be available in its iconic IKE Racing livery, while the latter will be available as driven by rally legend Colin McRae in 1993.

The update also brings improvements to the dynamic snow system, which was first introduced with the release of the Monte Carlo stages back in February, extending the weather condition to the Alsace and Wales rallies. While players might already be familiar with those stages, the snow will bring in an entirely new set of challenges.

There are now two new Event Groups that revolve around the newly-released cars, bringing the total number of events in the game to 12. Each of the three Traction Groups—FWD, RWD, and 4WD—also gets one new event each that mixes up all the in-game weather conditions.

The studio has also announced that, as of last month, Assetto Corsa Rally has entered into an official collaboration with M-Sport WRC rally driver Jon Armstrong. This partnership, according to Supernova Games Studios, has already led to Armstrong playing a direct role in the development, with his expertise in the sport helping the studio to refine vehicle physics and handling. The primary focus of these improvements has been tires, aerodynamics, and suspension for smoother, more predictable car behavior.

Along with this, Assetto Corsa Rally has also kicked off its partnership with the FIA, and as a result, the update has brought in dedicated in-game events that represent the first qualification phase of the FIA Esports Global Rally Tour. For more details about all of the changes brought along in update 0.4, check out the patch notes below.

Assetto Corsa Rally is currently available exclusively on PC.

Assetto Corsa Rally update 0.4 patch notes:

New content:

Added 2 new cars: Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Car and Subaru Impreza S3 Gr.A 1993

Added snowy weather conditions in Rally Alsace and Rally Wales

Added 2 new Assetto Corsa Rally Events groups for the 2 new cars, for a total of 12 new events

Added 1 event each (3 total) in the FWD, RWD and 4WD Traction groups with mixed weather conditions

Added 3 new partners in the Rally Encyclopedia

Cars:

Fixed go-pro cameras in replays clipping with bodywork on ultra-wide resolutions in Hyundai i20

Fixed gameplay cameras clipping with damaged bodywork in Citroen Xsara WRC

Fixed exposure of “Between Heads” and Driver/Co-Driver go-pro cameras in replays for all cars

Reduced direction-based ambient occlusion on cars

Updated LCD on Lancia Delta

Updated license plates on Skoda Fabia

Added competition logos on all cars

Made the back face of window stickers less saturated (simulated the paper backing)

Many minor bug fixes across all cars

Input:

Implemented Fanatec FullForce and Logitech TrueForce, with new in-game FFB parameter to be tuned by users

Improved generic devices compatibility. This enables more devices to work as expected.

Physics:

Added angular damping to small movable objects to prevent unrealistic spinning

Added Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Car and Subaru Impreza S3 Group A

With the Peugeot 306, it was made available for the first time the adjustment of brake bias through a pressure limiter valve (similarly to tandem master cylinders cars) instead of a balance bar. This, despite the car having a dual master cylinder setup. This allows the driver to reduce rear brake pressure without increasing the front one.

Further tires tuning for all surfaces, in particular:

The way wet conditions and snow affect tire forces has been modified; they no longer reduce cornering stiffness, and the S-shaped curve is effectively cut off when grip is saturated.

In the case of snow, an additional experimental deformation component has been added to the slip angle, which increases the more suitable a tire is for snow. This simulates the tire actually gripping the underlying surface.

These changes make the transition between grip and no grip more immediate and noticeable on both wet and snowy surfaces, improving the car’s responsiveness in the wet and its controllability on snow.

The parameters related to the tire’s dynamic masses and damping have been fine-tuned for more consistent force delivery.

The ability to grip on snow has been added to gravel tires, making them suitable for driving on snowy gravel roads.

The parameters of the tire’s S-shaped curve have been adjusted based on test data.

The load sensitivity parameters of some tires have been refined based on results from field tests.

Revised aerodynamic tuning for both drag and lift forces

Revised some vehicle setups and presets to improve handling or to make them more adequate to the latest tire changes.

Audio:

Impreza Engine/Exhaust implemented. The sound will improve further in the future – our audio designer is an Impreza owner and wants to make it perfect!

306 Maxi Engine/Exhaust implemented.

Skoda exhaust after-fire implemented.

Rally2 turbo added to Skoda

Improved gravel skid feedback.

Improved 3rd person spatialization for replays, especially approaching from a distance.

Improved 3rd person spatialization for forced induction.

Improved 3rd person spatialization for rear engine vehicles.

Fix for turbo BOV sounds cutting off too early based on the drop in turbo pressure.

Fix for too much “hill” reverberation coming through the cabin view.

Fix for various sounds cutting out randomly.

The usual “variety of tiny tweaks all over the place” statement 😉

Gameplay and UI:

Updated pacenotes for Monte Carlo Bollene

Updated pacenotes for Monte Carlo Sisteron

Fixed incorrect pacenote call on Wales Hafren North 3/6

Fixed stop marshals at Monte-Carlo Bollene 7/8 and Monte-Carlo Sisteron 6/6 not guiding player to stop point

Fixed some incorrect respawn collisions around crowd on Monte-Carlo Bollene walls

Fix an issue resulting in the automatic tire allocation on rally weekends to give an odd number of total tires and single compounds.

Fix an issue preventing the automatic tire allocation to give the correct number of multiple compounds tires. This allows for more tire choices during rally weekends, even while using the automatic selection.

Added Apply button in Video options

Fixed minor text and translations issues

Online:

Player session now correctly sets the client version

Added the Partners functionality

Leaderboards: added a dedicated endpoint for fetching leaderboards as Partner

Leaderboards: store client version with the Leaderboard entries

Leaderboards: FetchLeaderboard procedure now checks for the minimum allowed client version

Leaderboards: removed the results collection from the Store operation, which was causing tons of false errors, ending up in a Time Upload Failure dialogue

The legendary Monte-Carlo location has been split into two stages: La Bollène-Vésubie, Col de Turini (18 km), and Sisteron (13 km).

Following the November 2025 Early Access release of Assetto Corsa Rally, developer Supernova Games Studios has continued its ongoing support for the title with the release of patch 0.3. The update brings with it quite a bit of new content, headlined by the Monte-Carlo stages. Described as the “last major step in the Assetto Corsa Rally Early Access program,” the update was released alongside a new trailer, which you can check out below.

The addition of the Monte-Carlo stages is a big deal, since the whole course was fully laser-scanned to ensure “uncompromising precision” across various aspects, including road geometry and the technical challenge that made the area famous in the sport. The in-game version will also tap into the real-world equivalent’s unpredictable weather, with snow, ice and dry asphalt all being represented. The whole location will be available in the form of two stages: the 18 km-long La Bollène-Vésubie, Col de Turini, and the 13 km-long Sisteron.

La Bollène-Vésubie, Col de Turini has been described as featuring “relentless” elevation changes, along with narrow passages and plenty of hairpin and off-camber corners. The stage is slated to challenge players’ mechanical prowess over Assetto Corsa Rally, especially when it comes to their throttle control and precision. Sisteron, on the other hand, features wide, smooth roads and long, open corners. The stage places an emphasis on high speed direction changes, paired with critical braking zones that have limited visibility.

Along with the stage itself, Assetto Corsa Rally now also has two iconic rally cars added to its roster—the FWD Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.6 HF Gr. 4, and the 4WD ŠKODA Fabia RS Rally2. The former is capable of 115-130+ horsepower thanks to its narrow-angle 1.6L V4 engine, and is known for winning the 1972 International Rally Championship and the Monte-Carly Rally. The latter is a modern Rally2-specced car with a 1.6L turbo engine capable of 289 horsepower, and is known for winning its debut competition at the 2022 Lausitz Rally.

As you might expect from an update featuring the Monte Carly stages, Assetto Corsa Rally now also has a dynamic snowy weather condition. The studio has described the possibility of a race starting out dry, that eventually gets snow involved as the player rises in altitude over the course of a stage. It is also worth noting that, rather than being limited to fixed areas, snowfall can happen anywhere on the Monte Carlo stages as long as the atmospheric conditions are met. This means that the temperatures have to fall below 0 degrees celsius, and it has to start raining.

Snow can have adverse effects on gameplay, especially in the form of decreased tarmac grip. These adverse effects can be minimized thanks to the addition of new winter and Snow tyre compounds, giving players more freedom in mixing and matching their tyres.

Bringing it all together, the update introduces 40 new AC Rally events to the game, along with bringing in a host of improvements and fixes across the board. For more comprehensive details, check out the full patch notes below.

In a keynote speech at SimRacing Expo 2025, KUNOS CEO Marco Massarutto spoke about the success and development of the franchise.

Developer KUNOS Simulazioni took to the stage during the recent SimRacing Expo 2025 to announce that its sim racing franchise, Assetto Corsa, collectively sold 20 million copies. As caught by Traxion, studio CEO Marco Massarutto confirmed that the sales figures have been taken into account from all the way back in 2013 when the first Assetto Corsa was released as an Early Access game.

“With the release of EVO last January, the Assetto Corsa franchise has reached over 20 million unique users. This is a great result,” Massarutto said at the event. “These numbers are amazing. If you think that Assetto Corsa is meant to be a realistic simulation, it’s intended to be for ‘niche’ users. But it’s not a niche anymore.”

“It’s not a result of great physics, visuals, sounds, gameplay and modding. It’s a combination of all these things together. But it’s especially the result of a beautiful relationship between a developer and the sim racing community. We created a relationship based on mutual trust that helped us to do what we do. We are developers. But before that, we are sim racers.”

This announcement comes on the heels of the recent announcement of rally racing sim Assetto Corsa Rally, which is slated for release on PC on November 13. The title is going to be an Early Access release, and will include ten licensed vehicles, as well a day/night cycle, and shifting weather, all of which can have heavy impacts on the driving conditions thanks to changes in visibility and traction.

At launch, among the 10 driveable vehicles in Assetto Corsa Rally will be the Lancia Stratos Gr.4 (1976), the Fiat 131 Abarth Gr.4 (1976) and the Peugeot 208 Rally4 (2020). Along with this, the title will also feature locations like Asace and Wales with 33 kilometers of “fully laser-scanned roads.” The title has been described as making use of the same physics engine as the highly-praised one from the original Assetto Corsa.

The company has noted major plans for the game, including 30 different cars, a full-fledged career mode, and more than 120 kilometers of realistically-recreated roads.

In the meantime, the company is also continuing its work on Assetto Corsa EVO, which was released in Early Access back in January. Massarutto had also spoken about the title at SimRacing Expo 2025, noting that the studio is still working hard to make sure that fans of the franchise get what they want from the title.

“As developers, we know the challenges of creating a simulation like Assetto Corsa,” he said. “But as sim racers, we know what we want to drive and play, and we never forget this. This is important because today is a great time to be a sim racer. Assetto Corsa Rally and EVO are the answer to what people want.”

“With EVO, during the early access programme, we are doing our very best to fit with the needs and feedback that we are receiving from the community. We are so amazed because thanks to EVO and the new Assetto Corsa Rally, the franchise is growing at a level we never imagined before.”

Featuring ten licensed rally cars and four Special Stages spanning 33 kilometers each, it promises a "pure" rally simulation.

While Assetto Corsa EVO remains in development, KUNOS Simulazioni has a new title in the series launching next month. Developed by Supernova Games Studios, Assetto Corsa Rally will arrive on November 13th for PC via Steam Early Access. Check out the first trailer below.

Touted as a “pure and relentless rally simulation,” Assetto Corsa Rally promises day/night cycles, shifting weather that impacts visibility and traction, and the same physics engine as Assetto Corsa. When early access begins, players can look forward to ten licensed vehicles, including the Lancia Stratos Gr.4 (1976), the Fiat 131 Abarth Gr.4 (1976) and the Peugeot 208 Rally4 (2020).
