Atlus' USA division has made some changes to the top of its structure.

Back in August, Ian Curran was appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer and President of Sega of America. Now, Sega has announced some changes regarding its sister company, Atlus USA.

Basically, Curran will perform the same role for Atlus USA that he already does for Sega. Furthermore, Sega West Chief Executive Officer Tatsuyuki Miyazaki will now take on the role of CEO of Atlus USA. This is certainly some interesting news, and it should be interesting to see how this will affect Atlus’ future projects (looking at you, Persona 6).

As for the former CEO of Atlus USA, Naoto Hiraoka, he will be the company’s brand owner, and will be in charge leading its many creative projects. In a press release sent out by Sega, he expressed his faith in the new appointments, and also expressed his best wishes for the company’s future. He stated, “I’m so proud of the work we’ve done at Atlus U.S.A., Inc. and Mr. Miyazaki and Mr. Curran will continue to guide the company to even greater success. I look forward to creating more exciting projects with the creative team at Atlus in Japan, and wish my colleagues the best of luck growing the business in the Americas and EMEA.”

Regarding his new appointment, Curran stated, “I’m eager to grow my role as the new President and COO of Atlus U.S.A., Inc. and greatly appreciate the support that Mr. Hiraoka has given me up to this point. Across the SEGA and Atlus families, we’ve had an incredibly successful year, and there is still so much to look forward to.”

Finally, Miyazaki-san also provided a statement regarding the recent changes. He stated, “We wish Mr. Hiraoka the very best of luck in his role and are thankful that he’ll still be a valuable asset to the Atlus team I’m thrilled to play a greater role in the continued success of Atlus U.S.A., Inc. and work alongside Ian, who has done an incredible job in just a couple of short months in his role as President and COO of SEGA of America.”

Let’s hope for the best for Atlus USA, and that we’ll be seeing some exciting new things from them in the coming days.

Atlus USA thanks fans for their support as the latest Persona soars to new heights.

At one point, Atlus’s Persona 5 felt like it would be another great addition to the series which would sell perhaps a bit higher than its predecessor. However, ever since Persona 5 arrived in the West this past April, sales had skyrocketed overall. Now, Atlus USA has announced that the role playing game has sold over 2 million units worldwide since launch.

The publisher attached a special “thank you” note complete with a drawing from character designer Shigenori Soejima on Twitter. It features protagonist Joker along with talking cat thing Morgana. Persona 5 hasn’t just done well financially – it’s one of the highest rated games of the year across all platforms and a forerunner for several awards.

Whether it manages to overcome the competition or not, there’s no denying that Persona 5 has stolen the hearts of fans worldwide. There’s an Ultimate Edition on PS4 and PS3 for the fans who want everything though the price is fairly steep. Check out its contents here.

There's a hefty story in Persona 5.

If you’ve been wondering why Persona 5 has been taking so long to reach the West, then rest assured there are good reasons. DualShockers recently learned that the final English script for the upcoming JRPG is 1.5 times larger than Persona 4 Golden. That’s pretty hefty, especially considering how big Persona 4 Golden was (it’s 10 hours longer than the base Persona 4).

Persona 5 features many of the same tropes as previous games – a group of young vigilantes called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts battle against the forces of evil by unleashing Personas. Then there are areas like the Velvet Room for fusing Personas (thus making them stronger) and the Palace, a mysterious area corrupted by the adult world.

Persona 5 was originally set to release in February 2017 for PS3 and PS4 but it was delayed till April. This is due to the implementation of dual-audio support for Japanese and English voice-overs, which is usually a plus. What are your thoughts on the size of the script? Let us know in the comments.

Studio director Jared Gerritzen invites us to be afraid but only on the PS4 and PC.

Zombie Studios’ Daylight is a literal collection of firsts. It’ll be the studio’s first psychological horror game (no, Saw doesn’t count) and it will be one of first few games using Unreal Engine 4 to scare the living daylights out of us (get it?). With that in mind, will it deliver in the visual department and run at 1080p resolution and 60 FPS on the PlayStation 4?

We got in touch with Studio Director Jared Gerritzen and posed the same question. “Its our target, but 1080p is our first priority. Being the first UE4 game on the first cycle of the PlayStation 4 doesn’t give us the leeway that the last generation has with lesser known tech, some parts will have to have balance.”

As for whether Daylight will ever release for the Xbox One under the ID@Xbox banner – especially since indie games under the programme will begin rolling out in March – Gerritzen says, “Currently we have no plans to put Daylight onto platforms other than PlayStation 4 and the PC.”

Daylight will be out on April 8th for PC and PS4. Stay tuned for more details and let us know what you think of the game thus far.

Indulge in your craving for first person punching now.

Return to the planet Zenozoik and rescue your Father-Mother figure in a first person action role playing brawler with bizarre creatures appearing at every little minute. Or just plan Zeno Clash 2, with a new launch trailer provided by Atlus USA and ACE Team for your entertainment. Everybody wins! Except the bad guys/things. They never seem to win.

As the sequel to the original Zeno Clash, there’s still plenty of punching and pure fist pushing and other analogies for hitting some one in the head with balled flesh and bone. As such, the critical response is a little average on just how good it does it.

Zeno Clash 2 is now available for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and also features a multiplayer mode by which one can punch their friends (in the virtual world of course). Head over to Steam to pick up the game today for just $19.99 and indulge in the ultra-violence.
