A surprise announcement in Japan’s sagacious Famitsu magazine unveiled ‘Atsumete! Kirby’ which translates, roughly, as ‘Gather! Kirby’. Unlike most Kirby titles where you play one pink blob with incredible lung capacity you will now play several (up to ten), at once! Sadly, the use of aforementioned lungs in swallowing enemies has been shelved for this Kirby outing. Controlling the bubblegum mass will be handled by the touch screen; tapping will make a star appear which the Kirbys will walk towards, a double tap will make them run, and once they reach it they will latch onto it, allowing you to move them more directly. This control scheme will hours of fun decimating enemies, breaking blocks and even resurrecting fallen partners. The game is due for Japanese release before the end of the year.
