After initially announcing 12 games for the launch of Stadia, Google has added 10 more titles to the list. These include games like Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, Final Fantasy 15, GRID, Metro Exodus, NBA 2K20 and RAGE 2. Also, Stadia Pro subscribers will receive Samurai Shodown along with Destiny 2: The Collection.

Other titles that have been confirmed for the service include Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mortal Kombat 11 and the last three Tomb Raider games. Other games like Borderlands 3, Darksiders Genesis, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint are still slated to release this year. Beyond that, we’ll have to wait and see.

There’s no denying that Google has its work cut out for it with Stadia. The company recently confirmed that several major features like family sharing, the Achievement UI and Buddy Pass system won’t be available at launch. Stadia also won’t work with existing Chromecast Ultra devices – only with those provided in the Founder’s Pack and Premiere Edition. Stay tuned for more information – Stadia launches tomorrow in 14 territories worldwide.

It’s worth noting that those who purchased the Founder’s Edition of Google Stadia will receive a three month subscription to Stadia Pro. This enables playing Destiny 2: Collection, which includes the latest expansion Shadowkeep, at no additional cost. Though free games will be added to the service overtime, customers will still need to buy games to play them.

Releasing on November 19th, Stadia’s main selling point is the lack of any dedicated hardware and the ability to play games anywhere. Google also promises that games on Stadia will feel faster and more responsive than they would on local hardware in the coming years.
Google unveiled a bevy of new trailers for previously announced games coming to Stadia, its game-streaming service. Some titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs: Legion obviously stand out as new announcements. But what about games like Darksiders: Genesis, Mortal Kombat 11, Samurai Shodown and whatnot?

You can check out the trailers for each below. It’s worth noting that Robot Entertainment’s Orcs Must Die! 3, a long-requested sequel in the third person tower defense series, is also coming to Stadia. Windjammers 2, the sequel to the cult classic, also received some new gameplay showcasing some of the killer moves that players can pull off.

Google Stadia will launch in select countries like the United States, UK, Canada and so in November. The first subscription tier will be Stadia Pro which costs $10 per month and includes a free game each month. There’s also the Founder’s Edition which has a limited edition controller, three month Stadia Pro subscription, Chromecast Ultra and Destiny 2: The Collection (which includes Shadowkeep) for $129.99. A free tier for Stadia will be introduced next year.

Producer Hideo Suzuki speaks with GamingBolt about the expanded re-release.

2018’s Attack on Titan 2 wasn’t a perfect game, but for fans of the manga and the anime, it was an excellent recreation of the property. Faithfully adapting the events that fans have become familiar with while also mixing it with enjoyable traversal, a content-rich experience, and slick combat, Attack on Titan fans had a lot to like in the game. Now, with season 3 out there in the wild, Omega Force and Koei Tecmo are updating the base game to add a lot of new content to it, from story content adapting the third season, to new modes, new weapons, and more. Recently, we sent across some of our questions about Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle and what fans of the base game can expect to see from the upcoming update. The questions below were answered by the game’s producer, Hideo Suzuki.

"If you include additional elements such as developing new equipment, and character development & conversations in Territory Recovery Mode, there is about 70 hours of gameplay to enjoy."

In terms of gameplay hours, how much content would you say Final Battle adds to Attack on Titan 2?

In A.O.T. 2: Final Battle, to complete the new Character Episode Mode and Territory Recovery Mode it will take around 30-40 hours. If you include additional elements such as developing new equipment, and character development & conversations in Territory Recovery Mode, there is about 70 hours of gameplay to enjoy.

Can you speak a bit more about the new original episodes in story mode and what fans can expect out of them?

Rather than adding to the Story Mode of A.O.T. 2, the brand-new Character Episode Mode covers the content of Season 3 of the anime. Within it we have included our own original episodes which serve as additional content which shows activities that aren’t in the comic or anime. For example, “Testing of the New Weapon: Thunder Spear” and “Constructing the Titan Gallows” shows situations that may have happened between events in the manga and anime.

How many new weapons does Final Battle add to the game?

Final Battle adds the new “Shooting Gear” equipment from Season 3; including guns, magazines, and the anti-personnel equipment. There is a total of 40 newly added pieces of equipment separated into 7 different series. The existing “Slashing Gear” has also had new top-level equipment added for each series, and 3 new series, to increase it to 15 new pieces of equipment. We have also added the Showdown Equipment to this entry- Thunder Spears for blades, and the Gatling Gun for firearms.

Can you elaborate on what Territory Recovery Mode is bringing to the table with Final Battle?

In Territory Recovery Mode, players are able to create their own original regiment and try to recover territory back from the Titans, while recruiting new companions and expanding their bases. The main purpose of battling Titans still remains the same, but we hope you can enjoy the process of recruiting and training characters who wouldn’t fight together in the anime. We have also included features such as original dialogue scenes for characters, bonus rewards for deepening character bonds, and an extreme difficulty setting to offer a high replay value to players.

Territory Recovery sounds like it’s going to be a very meaty experience, and the way it lets players customize their squads sounds like a dream come true for fans of the property- how did it come about, conceptually?

Even though there are a lot of impressive characters in Attack on Titan, especially enemies such as Kenny and Zeke from Season 3 of the anime, the playable characters and their scenarios are limited. To avoid that limitation, we wanted to make a stage where players could enjoy playing as their favourite characters. The result of this was the Territory Recovery mode!

Attack on Titan 2 has been praised for how faithfully it adapts the source material, and how well it captures the essence of the anime and the manga. How much of a focus has that been for you while developing the new DLC content?

The Character Episode mode covers the same content as Season 3 of the anime, but we had to proceed with developing the game before the anime ended. During the development, we paid a lot of attention to the design of the new characters, equipment, stories, and dialogues, and we discussed with the anime publisher many times to avoid any deviation from the anime.

Was there ever a conversation to save content from season 3 for a new game altogether, rather than adding it in as DLC? Why did you choose to go down the DLC route?

We thought that it would be difficult to only use the content from Season 3 to create a new game, and it would lack the volume of content needed for a standalone game. We also wanted players to be able to experience the game and the story of Season 3 as soon as the anime ended, so we decided it would be best to provide it in a compact package through an upgrade pack to A.O.T. 2 owners. We also have a bundled version of A.O.T. 2 and the Final Battle Upgrade pack, which features all the events from Season 1 through to Season 3, so it’s a game not only for fans of Attack on Titan, but for players who are curious about the series and would like to experience it for the first time.

"In Territory Recovery Mode, players are able to create their own original regiment and try to recover territory back from the Titans, while recruiting new companions and expanding their bases. The main purpose of battling Titans still remains the same, but we hope you can enjoy the process of recruiting and training characters who wouldn’t fight together in the anime."

With Final Battle, have you taken the opportunity to really focus on any feedback or criticisms you’ve received from players for the base game?

After releasing A.O.T. 2, we received feedback from the players and it was frequently mentioned that the controls were difficult and that the online co-op/versus modes were hard to play. So, for this game, we listened to that feedback and added the “Control Assist” feature which simplifies the controls when battling Titans, and then we largely changed the way that online matchmaking occurs.

These changes are not only for the players who purchased A.O.T. 2: Final Battle or the Final Battle Upgrade Pack, but have also been included in a free update for those who own the base A.O.T. 2 game. In addition, online matching is possible with those who own A.O.T. 2 or the Final Battle upgrade version – so we hope players who own A.O.T. 2 but haven’t upgraded yet will take advantage of these updates and re-visit the world of Attack on Titan!

Switch exclusives, DLC and major expansions are all due next month.

September usually marks the flood of big releases, year in and year out. However, the party is starting early in July with a number of high profile exclusives, an eagerly awaited expansion and Stranger Things. Without further ado, let’s check out the ten most noteworthy games of July 2019.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Intelligent Systems is teaming up with Koei Tecmo for Fire Emblem: Three Houses, releasing on July 26th for the Switch. While the series’ tactical combat is still present, the story takes an intriguing turn, casting the player as a teacher. You’ll be guiding the students of the Black Eagles, Blue Lions and Golden Deer, each house representing a nation formerly at war and having a key character associated with them. That’s just the pre-time skip though – what happens after five years when the nations are at war once again? You’ll need to play the game to find out.

Stranger Things 3: The Game

So Telltale Games’ Stranger Things went bust. The good news is that Bonus XP and Netflix are delivering Stranger Things 3: The Game, a companion title to the upcoming third season. And it’s an…overhead beat ’em up style game with local co-op? We can dig it. Players will take on different quests, solve puzzles, battle enemies and choose from 12 characters, each with their own abilities. Stranger Things 3: The Game is out on July 4th for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC.

Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers

Square Enix’s next massive expansion for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is nearly upon us. Shadowbringers provides players with a darker task than before – they must venture to the First Star dimension and become the Warrior of Darkness to stop the Light’s overwhelming influence. Along with an increased level cap, new zones, new jobs like the Dancer and Gunbreaker and new races, Shadowbringers will also have a series of new raids. This includes one based on NieR: Automata which director Yoko Taro is overseeing. Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers is out on July 2nd for PS4 and PC.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

Set in a new universe and retaining the signature Marvel Comics look, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is developed by Team Ninja and published by Nintendo for the Switch. It sees our heroes battling against Thanos and his Black Order for the Infinity Stones. The signature beat ’em up action is still intact along with a large cast of characters, from Captain America and Deadpool to Magneto and Wolverine. We’ll see how well it captures the spirit of Marvel when it releases on July 19th.

Sea of Solitude

Jo-Mei Games’ Sea of Solitude is a emotional adventure game set in a submerged city. Protagonist Kay has become a monster and is on a mission to regain her humanity. Along the way, she’ll encounter other bizarre creatures and learn to cope with her psychological issues. Though a relatively low-key release, Sea of Solitude has an intriguing aesthetic and premise. It’s out on July 5th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Taking place two decades after The New Colossus, Wolfenstein: Youngblood takes the series in some interesting new directions. B. J. Blazkowicz’s twin daughters travel to Nazi-occupied Paris to find their father and aid the resistance as well because why not? With co-op support, missions that can be attempted in any order and level design that takes cues from Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, Wolfenstein: Youngblood looks to be a worthy follow-up. It’s out on July 26th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Dragon Quest Builders 2

The sequel to the hit action RPG sandbox title, Dragon Quest Builders 2 features an epic new story and massive world to explore. As an alternate version of Dragon Quest 2’s story, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is about fighting the Children of Hargon who want to wipe out all builders. To accomplish this, you’ll take on various tasks, constructing buildings and improving your building skills. New features include underwater exploration, flying, online and offline multiplayer with up to four players and much more. It’s out on July 12th for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in the West.

Just Cause 4: Los Demonios

Available early for Season Pass holders, Just Cause 4’s second expansion Los Demonios is out for everyone else on July 3rd. It sees a parasitic alien species attacking Solis, bringing new terrifying enemies for Rico to deal with. Fortunately, he’ll have some new weapons including alien tech to hold his own. In terms of missions and scale, the jury’s still out on whether Los Demonios is worth checking out when it arrives on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle

Yes, the craze for Attack on Titan isn’t what it used to be but that doesn’t mean Koei Tecmo is slowing down on content for its game series. Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is an upgrade which sports new original episodes for Story Mode, new characters like Zeke and Kenny Ackerman, and scenarios from Season 3 of the anime. There are also two new modes, the first focused on squad battles against Titans for territories and the second more focused on aerial combat. Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is out on July 5th in the West for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Beyond: Two Souls (PC)

Quantic Dreams’ hit cinematic adventure titles have finally come to PC…via the Epic Games Store. Regardless, PC players can finally experience Beyond: Two Souls in their preferred resolution and frame rate (we hope). The story stars Hollywood actor Ellen Page as Jodie, a woman with immense psychic powers thanks to her connection with an entity named Aiden. Along the way, she’ll battle against the CIA including her surrogate father-figure portrayed by Willem Dafoe. Beyond: Two Souls is out on July 22nd for PC.
