Taking both ‘Home Entertainment Device of the Year’ and ‘Games Console of the Year’, the PS3 Slim trumped rivals, taking close to half of the votes in both categories.

However, the Slim wasn’t exactly up against overwhelming competition; the closest rival in ‘Home Entertainment Device of the Year’ was the HP MediaSmart Home Server, taking a measly 9.6% of the votes, while the Slim took home the trophy with 54.3%.

In the ‘Games Console of the Year’ awards, the Slim’s main rival was the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Edition, which took a significant 31.2% against the PS3 Slim’s 43.3%. The Slim was also the Editor’s Choice top pick for Console of the Year.

In other Engadget award news, the Wii MotionPlus took home ‘Game Accessory of the Year’, beating Modern Warfare 2’s Night Vision Goggles’s by just 4.7%.

The 13th Annual Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) were held on February 18th, 2010 and surprisingly they happened to not be shown on Spike.  This despite the fact that the award ceremony was hosted by none other then ‘comedian’ Jay Mohr.

The big winner at the award show was Uncharted 2, which has received numerous critical praise.  Below are the complete list of award winners.

Fifa 10 scraped past MLB 09 The Show.
