A Regular Enemy (But Bigger)

How many times have you played The Division or Destiny (1, 2, doesn’t matter) and complained about reskinned enemies? How about bosses that look like regular enemies but bigger and maybe sporting different colours? Whether it’s Crota resembling a regular Hive Knight or even bosses like Savathun’s Song just straight up being a bigger Shrieker, this practice can be all too common in games.

Azure Striker: Gunvolt is an upcoming side scrolling action inspired by similar titles on the GBA (think Mega Man Zero), releasing exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS. Think of it as another game in the vein of Shovel Knight, except not for the NES, and you’d get the idea. It’s due out later this month, and ahead of its release, developers Inti Creates revealed a nice little surprise that should serve as an incentive to pick this game up: if you buy it within the first three months of its release, you get ‘Mighty Gunvolt’ for free.

What is Mighty Gunvolt? It’s a crossover action game that will star Gunvolt, as well as Beck from the upcoming game Mighty No. 9 (which is also due to hit the 3DS, among other systems). Mighty Gunvolt is an old-school action-platforming title that features five levels, and all playable characters in it will be differentiated with unique capabilities.
