EggNut and Raw Fury's adventure title has been out on PC since June, and is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles later this month.

Publisher Raw Fury has announced that EggNut’s post-noir detective game Backbone will be receiving ports for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One later this month. An announcement trailer for the same has been released, which you can check out below.

Backbone will see players uncovering a bunch of mysteries while playing as a raccoon, who also happens to be a private detective. The game is presented in a gorgeous pixel art style, and has some great art direction for a noir game. There’s interrogations through conversations, alongside a healthy assortment of light traversal challenges that see players jumping across rooftops. Of course, you will also have to look for clues in order to solve mysteries.

Backbone is available on PC, and reception for the game has been mostly positive, which has also been highlighted in the trailer for the game. It’s certainly great that those on consoles will finally get a chance to experience the game when it releases October 28th.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, Night Call, Observation, West of Dead, and Wizard of Legend will be leaving on June 15th.

Ahead of its E3 2021 showcase, Microsoft has announced new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass subscribers in June. It starts with The Wild at Heart, which will be available for the cloud, on June 1st. June 3rd sees Ubisoft’s competitive hack and slash title For Honor available for console and cloud players while post-noir adventure Backbone arrives on June 8th.

On June 10th, Darkest Dungeon will be available for console, cloud and PC players. The rogue-like dungeon crawler is renowned for its brutal difficulty, especially with managing the various afflictions that heroes can suffer. While this line-up may seem fairly sparse, it’s likely that more will be announced on June 13th when the Xbox and Bethesda showcase takes place.

On June 15th, a number of titles will be leaving the service. This includes Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (console), which is well worth playing before it’s gone; adventure titles Night Call and Observation; and rogue-likes West of Dead and Wizard of Legend. Stay tuned for more details on upcoming additions in the meantime.

The Australian classification board have the game listed with Backbone, the folks behind the recent X-Men Arcade port, as the developer and Konami as the publisher (so it should be the original and not this impostor). When contacted by Joystiq Konami responded that they had “no information at this time.”
