Last week, Epic Games teased over on their storefront that one of their free giveaways for this week would be Batman-related, with a Batman-shaped collage of Batman pictures. Now we know what that giveaway is. The Epic Games Store is giving away the entire Batman: Arkham Collection – which includes Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight – and the entire LEGO Batman trilogy – which includes LEGO Batman, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham – for free.

Presumably, this is in celebration of Batman Day, the character’s anniversary, which is on September 21st. As always, the criminally underrated and frequently overlooked WB Montreal-developed Batman: Arkham Origins continues to get ignored. Regardless, six free games in one week is still an excellent deal- go and download them now, and they’re yours to keep forever.

Yesterday, we reported that a Batman: Arkham Collection had been leaked by Amazon UK for the PS4 and the Xbox One, compiling Rocksteady’s trilogy of superhero games into one package. Now, it’s been confirmed by Rocksteady’s marketing manager Gaz Deaves (via VG247) that the leak is real, and that the collection is indeed coming in September. Here’s the catch though- it’s only coming to Europe.

The collection, as detailed in Amazon’s listing, will including Batman: Arkham Knight and the Return to Arkham collection, which includes remastered versions of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Arkham Knight will also come with the Earth 2 Dark Knight skin, making this the first time that it’s made available to European audiences, having released exclusively in North America previously.

Of course, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment continues to pretend like the excellent prequel Batman: Arkham Origins – developed by Warner Bros’ Montreal studio – doesn’t exist. We’ll just have to keep on praying that the overlooked gem also eventually gets ported over to current gen hardware.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment may be releasing another Batman Arkham compilation in the near future. By “near future”, we mean by November 27^th – TrueAchievements reportedly spotted a listing for Batman: Arkham Collection on the Xbox Store. It includes remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, along with Batman: Arkham Knight.

Though the listing has been pulled, its official summary indicated that the collection would include all post-launch content from each game. Take this with some grains of salt, but considering that Warner Bros. has yet to release a compilation of Rocksteady’s original trilogy, it could be true. The listing also indicated that Xbox One X Enhanced support was included.

None of the games officially support 4K or HDR, so this would be a good way to introduce these features. Pricing is also unknown at this point, so if an official announcement is coming, expect to hear more tomorrow. In the mean time, Rocksteady is busy with a new, unannounced project that’s been the subject of many rumours.
