Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 users didn’t really reach the requirements to unlock the Operation Hastings map for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 which were to reach 69 million team actions like Team Resupply, Revive, Heal, Spot and Repair. PC players unlocked the map in just a few days showing their community is very team oriented, but as a Happy New Year gift from developer Dice, they have unlocked the map for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, while the 360 racked up only 46 million team actions and the PS3 only managed 34 team actions, which was still work but, just not enough.

Here is one of the latest videos EA/DICE has released showcasing gameplay from the Vietname DLC Expansion that will be available December 21st for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC gets theirs a little earlier.  It will cost you $15 which is well worth it from what i have seen so far and that’s as long as you are a Bad Company fan too.  So sit back an enjoy the mayhem.

‘Join the community challenge “Battle for Hastings” to unlock a fifth multiplayer map in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam!’ in the words of EA.  Much like Battlefield 1043, DICE is having an event just like the collective kills unlocking the only fighter planes map in 1943.  This time around it’s a little different, because your going to have to do 69 million team actions as a community in whole.  Once you get your hands on the Vietnam Expansion this December 21st for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (December 18th for PC), you better start healing, spotting enemies, repairing, doing revives and resupplying team mates because I’m sure I’m not alone when I say, I want this fifth map!  The DLC is not even out yet and I am stoked about it and ready to get that fifth map unlocked so change up your classes or do whatever you need to do to get that fucker unlocked as this goes for everyone around the world.

The official release date of the long awaiting Vietnam expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been released coming this December 21, 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation while the PC gets it on December 18th.  Even more news comes that tomorrow, December 1st, some of the Battlefield: Bad Company 1 maps will be available along with some new maps as VIP Map Pack 7 which is for free if you bought the game new.  Check out the trailer above.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam Expansion has been priced in this new trailer but still only gives us a vague release window of “Winter 2010”.  That’s… great… ::sarcasm::.  The add on is priced at 1200 Microsoft Points, €12.99, £9.99, or $14.99 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.  This expansion will give you 4 new maps, 15 new weapons and 6 new vehicles. You will also get a load of new tunes with the addition of a ’60s soundtrack with 49 songs across the eight in-game radio stations.

• Four new multiplayer maps
• 15 new weapons
• 6 new vehicles
• 10 New Achievements/Trophies
• “Rocking ’60s soundtrack” including 49 new tracks you can listen to on the radio in vehicles and such. (Among them is of course the infamous “Fortunate Son” by CCR and “Ride of the Valkyries”)

All of the new expansion with its 1960s theme will tie into Bad Company 2’s universal experience point system. Some of the new Vietnam goodies you will get are the M79 grenade launcher, the Navy SEAL XM22 machine gun, the American Huey Helicopter and the Russian T54 tank among many other things.  Check out the trailer below seen at TGS this year.  Price has not been set yet.
