Of course, if you own any of these games, the single-player campaigns remain playable. Furthermore, each title will remain available for other platforms. Those still enjoying Battlefield 3 on PC or Battlefield 4 and Hardline on Xbox One, PS4, or PC can continue to do so without any issues.

The announcement comes a few months after Electronic Arts confirmed no further seasons for Battlefield 2042. The next title in the series has yet to be officially revealed. However, it has the largest team in the franchise’s history working on it, including DICE, Motive Studios, Ripple Effect Studios and Criterion Games. EA CEO Andrew Wilson described it as a “tremendous live service”, though details on its setting and mechanics remain unknown. Stay tuned for further updates.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is garnering positive reviews. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is revitalizing interest in the franchise. Even Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is pretty good. Heck, even among the exclusives for PlayStation 4, Spider-Man has been raking it in, and has a new DLC pack, The Heist, available now.

However, if you’re interested in playing some of the older titles on PS4 at a discount, then there’s good news- Sony will be adding 16 games to the PlayStation Hits line-up on November 2nd. That means older titles which have been successful enough will retail for $19.99, just in time for the Holiday season. The full list of games for November includes:

So if you’re interested in the PlayStation Hits version of the above, look for their special red packaging. Other titles that have been added to the line-up (for the United States) include Bloodborne, DriveClub, LittleBigPlanet 3, The Last of Us: Remastered, Uncharted 4 and much more. At $20, picking up titles like Mortal Kombat X, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Dragon Age Inquisition is a steal, if we’ve ever seen one.

DICE and EA Visceral’s cops and robbers themed Battlefield Hardline‘s Getaway DLC is available to all Xbox One owners for absolutely free right now. All Xbox Live Gold members can grab it for free through the store through the rest of the week.

Currently, the DLC is free only on Xbox One, as the headline suggests, but when Battlefield DLC has been made available for free before, it has usually been across all platforms- albeit the PS4 and PC versions of the game usually get it for free a bit later than the Xbox One.

Battlefield Hardline was released last year on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will be followed up by this year’s release of the World War 1 themed, fantastic seeming Battlefield 1, which, being the first game in the franchise designed exclusively for the next generation spec, will be launching on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Battlefield Hardline Premium, the subscription service/season pass fusion for Battlefield Hardline that entitles players to all expansions, maps, DLC, and early access to all content, is now available to Xbox One players for absolutely free, down from its usual price of $50- as long as those players subscribe to EA Access, that is.

EA Access is, of course, a great deal, offered at a ridiculously cheap price, that makes it all but mandatory for any Xbox One owner to have (unless they absolutely loath and detest literally every single title that EA puts out, for some reason)- so on the whole, this deal is basically bordering on highway robbery.

With this addition, subscribers of EA Access on Xbox One should get access to the complete Battlefield Hardline experience- which is just in time, because the next Battlefield game is now due to be revealed at the end of this week, on May 6.

Visceral Games’ Battlefield: Hardline will be receiving its next major DLC/map pack Betrayal on March 1st. This is for Premium members of course – regular consumers get it on March 15th. A new cinematic trailer has also been released to celebrate the DLC and its made by The Two Scotsmen. Check it out below.

The Betrayal DLC brings some new content to the game’s multiplayer such as four maps (Alcatraz, Cemetery, Chinatown and Thin Ice), two new vehicles (snowmobile, hearse) and the Gun Bench for customizing weapons and uniforms.

Some new gadgets are also in-bound including the Inquistion Sword, Cleaver, Shovel, Karambit and Devil’s Toothpick. You can also test out weapons at the new Gun Range and all of the new weapons arriving with Betrayal will be available free to all players.

The newest DLC pack for DICE and EA Visceral’s Battlefield Hardline, the cops and robbers spin off of the Battlefield franchise that released to absolutely no fanfare last year, seems like it will be fairly substantial. Battlefield Hardline Betrayal will add a total of eighteen new weapons and four new maps to the game, according to Westie.

Betrayal is anticipated to be the final DLC pack for the game (though DICE routinely supports its games far beyond the end of the Season Pass- so we ay expect some free content updates for Hardline going forward anyway), and it looks like the game is at least going out in style.

The fourteen new weapons being added to the game include AUG A3 Assault Rifle, MP9 Machine Pistol, SP-AR DMR, Improvised Pistol, MX4 PDW, M98b Sniper Rifle, M1903 Springfield WW1 Rifle, WW1 Lewis Gun, Mammoth Gun (Triple Barrel Shotgun), RPK-74 Assault Rifle, Dual Wield Scorpions (Secondary), A-8S Harpoon Gun, M4 Shotgun, Karambit Knife, Devil’s Toothpick Knife, Cleaver, Inquisition Sword (from Dragon Age), and a Shovel. The new maps are Chinatown, Alcatraz, Cemetery, and Thin Ice.

Battlefield Hardline is available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.

Xbox One users take note – today marks the beginning of free EA Access until January 24th. This will allow users to take advantage of the Vault’s sizeable collection of games including Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Titanfall, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield 4, Battlefield: Hardline, Need for Speed Rivals and much ore.

It should be noted that while this is a trial, your progress will carry over should you decide to purchase EA Access or any of the games available on it. Unfortunately, you won’t be getting access to those early trials on upcoming games.

According to EA Access on Twitter, “Play First Trials are not available through the Free Play Days that start tomorrow.” These include trials for FIFA 16 and Need for Speed 2015.

Battlefield Hardline‘s new expansion, The Getaway, will be tweaking quite a bit in the game. It adds new stuff, sure, but it will also be changing a fair bit, which should freshen things up for those of you who have been playing the game since its launch last year.

The changes are numerous, and on the whole, they sound fun. They include being able to ride on top of the train in Train Dodge, armored limousines, hidden tunnels in the Double Cross map, destructible environments that let you make new paths and shortcuts, especially on the Pacific Highway map, and many, many more.

A lot of the changes are minor- they are only neat little tweaks to animation, or changes that fall in the ‘attention to detail’ camp. But on the whole, the full list of changes is definitely bound to be something that the entire playerbase will probably appreciate.

Battlefield Premium subscribers will be getting their hands on Battlefield: Hardline‘s next big DLC next week with Getaway. Releasing on January 12th for Premium subscribers (January 26th for everyone else), the pack recently received a new cinematic trailer to get everyone excited. Check it out below.

The Getaway DLC adds four new maps to the equation with Pacific Highway, Double Cross, Diversion and Train Dodge (hint: it’s the one with the train along with a new mode called Capture The Bag. There are also four new vehicles, a new gadget and melee weapon, four new Legendary Camos and three new weapons for the Mechanic’s class. We’re unsure that you’ll experience action as crazy as the trailer but here’s hoping.

Battlefield: Hardline will be receiving a new game mode called Competitive Match in a free patch later this month.

The 5 vs. 5 game mode will be split into seasons, with each season lasting up to three weeks and featuring themed maps and game type rotations. Individual performance rankings will determine the Skill Rating of those you match with. The highest rank appears to be Elite Gold Captain and the top player by season end will receive a fair amount of acclaim with the top five players overall receiving a Kill Card upgrade.

It should also be noted that there will be two leagues – the Standard League open for all and the Premium League for Premium subscribers which will feature DLC content alongside the base game. Look out for the Competitive Match mode patch to arrive later this month alongside the Getaway DLC which adds new maps, gadgets and weapons to the mix.
