Beachhead Studios head John Linden talks about ironing issues out.

Beachhead Studios head John Linden, responsible for the Clan Wars app in Call of Duty: Ghosts, recently spoke about improvements being made to the matchmaking interface, including better designation of clan members into groups of similar skill levels.

“A 100-person clan is going to beat out a 3-person clan every time. That was something we did have some issues with [during the first Clan War]. Clans were growing so fast. The Xbox One had been out for three days, so we had some problems where people would start off with a 10-person clan, and then suddenly they’re a 40-person clan. We’ve gotten through that now, so we’ve got some better matchmaking in here. We’ve got a lot more data now. That will start balancing out.”

Have you had a chance to access Clan Wars and the corresponding app? What did you think about it? Let us know in the comments below. (clears through) Anyway… Activision and Beachhead Studios seem to have realised that this could be a little frustrating, especially for those of you have been there since day one, and for that reason they have released this message:

“For our premium members who are Founders, know that granting your status and delivering your in-game benefits in MW3 is a priority. Also, to ensure that every premium member receives their full money’s worth, we are immediately and automatically extending your membership to Call of Duty Elite by 30 days at no additional cost.”

On top of that, just in case you were only just considering jumping on the Elite train and want something out of the delay: “If you’re still considering becoming a premium member, we’re going to extend Founder eligibility until the end of the month, and you will also receive the additional 30 days of access.”

And there you have it: A reasonable consolation for the premium users and naught for the free users. But hey, what do you expect?
