Ben Heck's Xbox One Tablet Is Actually Real.

It’s a very common thing to pass the time with a little bit of building and creating. But it’s not so common to break apart an expensive home video game console in order to get your hands on the parts. Though it’s times like this where it is completely justifiable. Impractical, but justifiable.

The super creative modder and build enthusiast Ben Heck is the man behind the Xbox 360 Laptop and the PlayStation 3 laptop, but rather than simply building an Xbox One laptop, he’s stepping things up. In his recent build he turns the Xbox One, which is one of the clunkiest consoles to date, into a working Xbox One Tablet.

Heck encountered numerous road bumps whilst creating the Xbox One Tablet such as getting the Blu-ray disk drive to spin when at an angle, finding a quality screen of the right size and capabilities and the fact that the guts of the Xbox One aren’t exactly slim in the first place.

No matter how you slice it, this was an impractical and costly build. But I would be lying if I said it’s not cool. I want one.

Ben Heck's latest creation.

Earlier today Ben Heck, a well-known and console modder, debuted his latest mod: The one-handed Xbox One controller. The intent of this new single-handed controller is to allow disabled gamers who may only have the use of one hand to still be able to enjoy Xbox One games.

An in depth look at the new controller will take place on Ben’s show The Ben Heck Show, which airs on element14 this Friday.

The controller itself has a custom left-trigger on the back next to the battery pack. According to Heck the design is meant for right-handed people, as they comprise the largest demographic of the controller’s demand. Heck has yet to comment on whether or not there will be a left-handed design.

Stay tuned to Gamingbolt to find out more about this on Friday.
