There's a compelling mystery to be had in every one of these games.

For some of us, mystery is a driving force. It pushes us to explore the unknown, to discover and document, and to be amazed. Simple murder-mysteries that answer the proverbial whodunnit are one thing but there are some fantastic single-player games out there which push you to hunt for mysteries. Let’s take a look at 15 of them below. Keep in mind that mild spoilers are in store.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

There are few games that handle adventure as well as Uncharted. If we had to choose one title in the series that properly conveyed that level mystery and exploration, it would be Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. We follow Nathan Drake as he attempts to solve the mystery of Marco Polo and what occurred on his voyage from China. Are his ships still intact and do they contain treasure of the highest value? Love interests and action dominated the proceedings but playing as Nathan Drake was the closest we ever got to being Indiana Jones.
