BioShock is a series that came out last generation and made a massive splash in multiple ways. After three very successful entries, though, the series went into hibernation with no new entry so far in this generation of consoles. Apparently, a fourth game has been in the works for quite a good while, though who knows when we’ll actually see it. But in the meantime, it seems we may be able to take the previous three games on the go soon.

A list for a Switch version of the BioShock Collection popped up via the Taiwanese rating board, which you can see through here. Presumably, this is the same remastered collection that brought BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite (along with all their respective DLC) to the PS4 and Xbox One. While leaks of this nature are considered speculation, the Taiwanese board has leaked several legitimate releases in the past.

The BioShock Collection is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with all individual games also available on PC. When the Switch version is officially announced, it’ll mark the first time the series has found its way to a Nintendo console.

And a ton of iOS and Android games to wrap it off!

Today sees the release of Ben 10 Game Generator 3, DeadGrind and Style Savvy: Trendsetters on Android and iOS platforms. I wonder how many of the gamers will be picking up these? Paradox seems to be pushing a lot in 2012 with almost a new game or DLC/expansion pack every month. On the 23rd they will release A Game of Dwarves exclusively for the PC (obviously!). Elemental: Fallen Enchantress and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, two more PC games are hitting the same day. The two arch enemies, PlayStation Vita and 3DS are getting Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward by Aksys Games.

MAC getting some love in the form Shadow of a Soul: Chapter I. That games come out on the PC as well on the 24th. The PC version of Deadlight is coming out on the 25th. So if you missed out the one on Xbox Live, now is the time to enjoy it on your PC. He-Man the most powerful game in the universe comes out on the weakest gaming hardware, on the Mobile, on the 26th. It’s time to dance with Everyone Sing which comes on the PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360. 26th sees a few more release in the form of the well known Forza Horizon and least known Hotel Transylvania, King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North for the PC.

Looks like 26th is going to be a long day, with EA biggie Medal Of Honor: Warfighter coming out for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. This is then followed by a spree of 3DS, DS and Vita games like Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3D, and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz with Ultimate 146 collection coming out for the PC.

The week wraps up with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask for the 3DS on the October 28th.

Which game are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments section below.

As well as the main game, the Mac edition of BioShock 2 also contains an entirely separate multiplayer game, The Fall of Rapture. Players take on the role of mutated test subjects for the opportunistic plasmid manufacturer Sinclair Solutions, and engage in the civil war that tore Rapture apart.

A 2K rep has stated that players should “hang tight and I’ll let you know what’s going on when I get official word – I don’t know the status of that content given that it wasn’t supposed to be released yet, so I wouldn’t work on trying to get it going.”

Both the Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den downloadable packs, along with a patch for BioShock 2, will be releasing for the PC shortly, 2K has announced, scrapping their original idea of not doing all this.

Originally, they wouldn’t bring the DLC to the PC because of some “timing and technical issues” but now that they have “reallocated resources,” the DLC and the patch for the PC version of BioShock 2 is back on.

Protector Trials will be out by December, though 2K are “not certain” about Minerva’s Den- it won’t be out before Holidays though.

This is what the official statement by 2K says:

“Hey guys,

I have some good news concerning the BioShock 2 PC patch as well as the development of Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den for the PC. Not to keep you in suspense any longer, I’ll sum it up with one sentence: We have resumed development on all three and they will be coming to PC.

Many of you might be asking “how did that happen?” When we announced that Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den would not be coming out for the PC due to technical and timing issues, we received a lot of feedback (much of it understandably expressing disappointment and anger) about our decision. I was also asked for more details about what technical and timing issues we were faced with – and I want to take this time to explain a bit more. In terms of the patch and the Protector Trials, we had a working build but there were bugs in the code that would trigger problems with the game during specific situations, and we were not happy enough with the status of the build to release it for certification with Microsoft. As time moved on, we could not resolve these issues to our standards and so could not release to cert. As with all games, however, the dev cycle must end and patches and updates must conclude so that the team can move on to other projects. We hit that deadline without the content being in a state we were satisfied with, so we did not release it.

However, one of the core principles of the 2K Games community is to keep an open dialogue with gamers and listen to what they have to say. We are a company of gamers making awesome experiences for gamers – and given the conversations we’ve had over the past two weeks, we’ve decided to go back and finish the PC patch and Protector Trials. Currently, we are patching the final bugs in these two pieces of content and then will submit everything to certification. The cert process can take anywhere up to four weeks, but as we hit major milestones (passing cert or otherwise included) I’ll tell you guys. We are projecting that the patch and the Protector Trials will be ready to cert in December and I’m happy to announce that they will be available free to the community.

When we stopped development on Minerva’s Den, it was not in a workable state and needed significantly more dev time to complete. As of now, we are not certain how much longer it would take to complete the project to our standards, but we have reallocated resources to work on completing the project so PC gamers can have this experience in Rapture along with 360 and PS3 owners.

Often, development is not a smooth and straight forward path. We never want to disappoint our gamers and we will always listen to what you have to say and try to do what’s right for you and the game. I want to thank all of you not only for your feedback, but also for your patience and understanding.

2K has just announced that the first batch of single player DLC for Bioshock 2 is due next month, set to release on all three platforms on the 3rd of August.

The official product description explains: “‘Protector Trials’ challenges players to use the full arsenal of the BioShock 2 tool set as they dispatch their foes and unleash their wrath on enemies across six different areas from the single-player experience.”

From what I can understand, this is Bioshock’s take on the fast and frantic button pounding action that has come to be definied by titles such as Devil May Cry.

However, this is only just the beginning. More BioShock 2 DLC will arrive in the coming months, says 2K, and the next pack will “expand the narrative, and introduce new tools and new challenges that extend the lore and fiction of the failed utopia under the sea.”

“Says 2K president Christopher Hartmann, “More single-player content is on the way that will deliver more of the intense action and story-driven gameplay that fans have been craving.”

Protector Trials will be available next month on PSN and XBLA. Be sure to download it.
