Heisenberg (Village of Shadows) – Resident Evil Village

For most players, Village of Shadows difficulty can be somewhat comfortable. Unless you own the Trauma Pack DLC, you’ll likely be going through this on your second playthrough and thus have some nice upgraded weapons to take along. But none of your upgrades, weapons and so on will matter when tackling Heisenberg in the tank section due to the obscene damage he deals. It also doesn’t help that your movement is so limited inside of the tank, making it that much more difficult to survive his attacks and targeting his weak points.

Gearbox Software’s newest DLC for Borderlands 3, the Director’s Cut, is now available. It adds oodles of new content and loot to unlock along with new features like the first of three Vault Cards. For a better idea of what’s in store, check out the launch trailer below.

The story quests this time focus on a new podcast started by Ava where she explores different murder mysteries (which could be linked to the supernatural). Though slaying foes is a given, players will also explore different destinations and investigate crime scenes to figure out what’s going on. A new raid boss, Hemovorous the Invincible, is also available and promises the toughest challenge – and best loot – for players yet.

The first Vault Card adds over 100 new challenges to complete via daily and weekly challenges. In return, players will receive new cosmetics and scaling gear. Behind-the-scenes art and videos are also provided in the DLC, giving fans a better look at the game’s development. Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut is currently live for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. It may also come to Switch based on a recent PEGI listing.

Until a new Season Pass is announced, the “final” DLC for Borderlands 3 goes live today with the Director’s Cut. It will be available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 but it seems that a Switch version could be in the works. A new rating from PEGI lists the DLC as coming to the platform, though this raises more questions than anything.

Will it run natively on the platform or via the cloud like Control Ultimate Edition or the recently released Hitman 3? It seems a given that the base game will be included but what about previously released DLC? Gearbox Software has never indicated that a Switch version could happen but as game director Paul Sage once said, “Never say never.”

As for the Director’s Cut DLC, it adds new murder mystery story quests revolving around Ava’s new podcast; a new raid boss in Hemivorous the Invincible; and much more. Stay tuned for more details on its release. In the meantime, you can read our review for Borderlands 3 here.

Gearbox Software had promised new content for Borderlands 3 later this year but hadn’t committed to a new Season Pass. It’s since confirmed Season Pass 2 which contains the Designer’s Cut and Director’s Cut add-ons. The former is out on November 10th while the latter launches in Spring 2021.

While the Director’s Cut content has yet to be outlined, the Designer’s Cut includes a new Skill Tree for each Vault Hunter along with the new Arms Race mode. Details on both have yet to be revealed, which Gearbox is going to rectify starting on October 20th. It will host a stream at 9 AM PT showcasing the new Skill Trees for Amara and FL4K.

On October 22nd at the same time, it’s Moze and Zane that get the spotlight with their new Skill Trees. October 29th will see Arms Race revealed while October 30th will feature a live play-through of the mode. Season Pass 2 will also include new looks for each of the Vault Hunters, though it’s price is yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
