Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game sees Ash Williams and other characters throughout the franchise teaming up to stop the forces of darkness. However, players can also control the Kandarian Demon and oppose the heroes at every turn.

A new trailer narrated by Bruce Campbell has been released, finally giving us a look at what the demon is capable of. Along with flying through environments, it can possess trees, other Survivors and even cars to harm Ash and co. There are three forms to choose from, each with their own unique stats and bosses. Henrietta is all about damage and tanking the same while Eligos are invisible and can stun Survivors.

Evil Dead: The Game is out on May 13th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. It’s also coming to the Nintendo Switch at a later date. Stay tuned for more details on it in the coming weeks.

There’s the Standard Edition for $40 and Deluxe Edition for $60, the latter featuring the base game and Season Pass 1 with access to four DLC packs releasing in the future. Pre-order bonuses include two outfits for Ash – S-Mart Employee and Gallant Knight.

It was also revealed that the PC version would be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Whether this is timed exclusivity – and for how long – remains to be seen. Thus far, we know that Evil Dead: The Game will offer co-op and PvP as four survivors band together across various maps based on the movies and TV series.

Along with looting and fighting off enemies, players will also need specific items to halt the forces of darkness. Of course, the Deadites won’t just let you and it’s possible for other players to possess a Deadite or the Kandarian Demon to oppose the survivors. Evil Dead: The Game releases on May 13th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC with the Nintendo Switch version coming later.

It’s now set to release on May 13th which should provide the team “the time they need to get things just right,” as per the developer on Twitter.

Pre-order information and a brand new trailer will be going live next month so expect some new information while waiting. Announced at The Game Awards 2020, Evil Dead: The Game follows Ash Williams along with other characters from the franchise like Kelly Maxwell and Pablo Simon Bolivar. Together, they must fight off the forces of evil in co-op.

Alternatively, players can engage in PvP by possessing the survivors and other Deadites along with a Kandarian Demon to take down the humans. There will be several maps based on the films (such as the famous cabin in the woods) and numerous weapons to fight with like the classic chainsaw. Evil Dead: The Game is currently in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Boss Games for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC, it was originally slated to release in 2021. The publisher confirmed that the additional time was for “polish” and “to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience you’re all waiting for” along with implementing a single-player option.

More details on characters and pre-order availability will be provided in the future. The next gameplay video will also feature Bruce Campbell, which seems to indicate that the man himself will make an appearance. Campbell reprises his role as Ash Williams with other characters like Kelly Maxwell (played by Dana DeLorenzo) and Pablo Simon Bolivar (Ray Santiago) being from the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV show.

Evil Dead: The Game offers a number of different maps and over 25 weapons for players to use like the chainsaw. Each character has their own unique abilities and can take on the Kandarian Demon in PvP who possesses different objects to wreak havoc. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
